    To keep it simple, without personal attacks and without changing the subject, are you able too. 1) Defend the Bob Crowe's earnings of about £124,000 a year, and whose partner earns about £,000 whilst living in a council house ? 2) Defend your view of council tax being related to the size of your house ?

    Privatise the NHS, well bits have already been privatised and look what has happend, so much for standards improving. What about the folk who can't afford to go private?...maybe you would prefer a system like the USA where if you can't pay you don't get treatment. What is disgusting is that someone with a 20 room mansion can pay the same in council tax as someone is in a 2-3 bedroomed council flat. Or Multi millionaires who don't pay tax at all. If your all for equality why is some dickhead of a politician or banker allowed to earn more than a soldier, nurse or fireman for that matter?

    The unions were needed when formed, and in my opinion are still necessary today, however they got to powerful, and because of various hidden agendas promoted by some leaders who did not have their members interests at heart they lost their way and their creditability. I feel the NHS which was a tremendous service has also lost it's way, due to mismanagement, although throwing money at it is not the complete answer, I also agree that this service should not be free to visitors of this country, I often wonder why they cannot operate their own lottery, and raise funds giving the public a choice

    So many dogs of all types and breeds get stolen or go missing and completely disappear, puppies could probably be sold fairly easily, some working dogs could be worked or used for breeding along with some pedigree dogs, but so many pets some of them quite old are also stolen, is there a market for these given the number of rescue centres. Is there a market for vivisection ? do they have a value in any food market ? I believe that last year in the UK some thirty or forty dogs a day were reported stolen.

    That 1" cyst is rather large, I assume the vets tests were with a needle, and I know that such tests do not always give a conclusive diagnosis, I would carefully monitor both of them at least, but owing to the dogs age and otherwise good health I would seriously consider having them surgically removed and biopsied to confirm no malignancy, which is not a big operation, but maybe costly. ( insurance ? ) I had this with a terrier some years ago and I was pleased I decided this course of action, which gave me peace of mind and at least to me improved the dogs looks.Used to have Ridgeback as a

    Some of you guys are feeding a high protein complete food, and adding further protein.

    If you mean a Complete Dry Food, I would suggest the Burns range. A complete dry food is exactly that, do not use as a mixer or you will ruin the nutritional balance. I also think raw is the better option, but for some thats not always possible.

    The rescue centres are full of Staffs with owners who have had similar problems, maybe this is not the breed for you, but good to know your sticking with it. What food are you feeding him with ? try a change of diet which maybe more suitable especially if he's on a high energy / protein diet for working dogs. Make sure he has plenty of exercise, if possible take him swimming which is great for tiring high drive dogs, lead train him to walk to heel without pulling, and get the basic training, recall, sit, down, stay completed, and in stages throughout the training socialise him with other dog

    The late Fred Taylor often used to fish for pike with a rodent lure and was very successful with it, I have seen on a number occasions them taking ducklings one after another whilst they swam one behind the other in a row behind their mother.

    Self inflicted, your fault for contacting them Well he was trying to do the right and sensible thing before discharging a shotgun close to other peoples homes to avoid getting an MP5 shoved up his nose. I don't know about you but one thing that scares me is the police with guns...it's not like they're well known for thinking twice before blowing some poor buggers head off. Was it a shotgun ?

    I have just informed the editor of Airgun World of this situation, giving him brief details of the circumstances in the hope of some support. Although I feel nothing will come of proceedings against Phantom, I regard this as another attempt by anti's to attack fieldsports in general. This is a scatter gun approach by them in the hope that they get a hit now and again needs to be resisted.

    Yes I agree I've never had one so I cannot speak from experience, but I believe border is the safer easier dog to train, and would be more true to type. the beardie cross being somewhat wild in comparison , which I would like. Have you seen his book World of Lurchers which may give you an insight into his thoughts on the matter ? he really is very knowledgeable about all dogs and very approachable .

    I too may be interested in a Hancock dog I rather like Bearded Collie cross, knew someone who had and very impressed.
