I can think of a better reason why they won't touch Israel.They would be wiped off the face of the earth in a week. Because suicide bombers are scared of dying? They could easily have infiltrated Israels borders and would have had support from all over the world. They have been dealing with the stuff for decades. Their intelligence service is second to none. They do get suicide bombers, but many are put off by the retribution carried out afterwards on the bombers families. Plenty of stabbing attacks going on now though. I get what your saying i just tend to believe some folk are born to do stuff and have a natural talent/ability be that physical or mental. With dedication and perseverance id like to think i could bring myself up to any good soldiers level of shooting.....but with some c**t throwing hand grenades at me i,ll leave my firearm wherever i find it and be on my toes double lively in boots full of my own shit and piss.......now i dont care if your Mike Tyson or King Kong i,ll have a stand up with anyone but every man should know his limitations and the nature of the subject of guns would lead me

For arguments sake,say the civilians were expected to pass a course much harder in terms of safety and marksmanship than soldiers/police,would they be qualified enough for you then? If they were selected by people we pay and trust to select people and trained to the highest standard i would put my trust in said people yes of course. What i couldnt do is just presume that anyone who,s a good shot and passed a test has the correct experience and emotional/mental approach to be carrying a gun around with them The test can be very hard is the point,it could involve using a weapon

Without a shadow of a doubt you are correct. If I'm shopping on the high-street and an Islamic hit squad start shooting the place up I want a fully tooled up SAS squadron to immediately kick the doors in and do what they do best. They're the best in the world and I want nothing short of that. In France at that rock concert, as soon as the French counter terror team got on the scene they went in and ended things like well honed professionals, but 89 are still in the morgue... Apparently it's only David Cameron and 1 other on here who were surprised. I honestly would have been surprised if we got through xmas without a serious attack,security will be ramped up further now,but I can see at least a few near misses in the next few weeks.

Sounds perfectly sensible to allow people with a long and proven track record to carry a concealed weapon......its the day course Andy Mcnab wannabee,s im not so sure of. It doesn't have to be a day course It could be far more stringent than military weapon handling tests,there will be people who post on here much more competent than a lot of soldiers. I would like to know who the people on here are that are much more competent than soldiers ....... I mean in terms of safety and marksmanship,not battle procedure. I have a couple of friends who've never been in the military
