    Dog Run

Thats a give away at that money. I live on the isle of man, cost 3xs that to get one over here.
  4. Found out yesterday my 9year old bedlington bitch has cushings disease, has any one had a dog with this, if so what is the outcome, do they do ok on medication etc. feedback would be much appreciated.
  5. I tried to get hold of a working type about ten years ago but very limited over here on the isle of man, so ended up buying a kc reg bitch and to be quite honest shes no worse than some of the working types ive seen.
  6. Very nice looking, good thick jacket.
  7. Photo just came up when i asked about the breeding
  8. Im no expert on the subject but as theres nobody going to give you a answer. Im sure theres the odd purebred working bedlington about, granitor is really the only one i hear about these days. I have a gutchcommon/foggyfurze bitch that i have worked on big numbers of rat as theres nothing bigger over here on the isle of man, but most people class workers as going to ground not killing the odd rat or hunting up rabbit, depends what you want to use it on. I must say even that my bitch has done me proud over the years and she is a good strong bitch the coat on her is shite, one drop of rain and it
  9. I got one from jans greyhound gifts, not that cheap though. Not sure about second hand ones, there not that hard to make yourself.
  10. Its 6x4 dawn, made mainly from an old B&Q shed my mate was going to take to the tip
  11. Yes kay, there is a ladder each side so they can access the loft area which is split into two.
  12. Built a new house for the ferrets out of some old scrap timber.
  13. I agree with you brummy, i have two beddyx lurcher bitches, they only stand at 17" .You cant beat them for bushing and they beat my plummer bitch to a rat most of the time.

  15. Well said mole trapper, thanks for that
  16. You're wrong. There are no native wild ferrets, but that don't mean ferrets don't live in the wild in the U.K. He might be refering to 'ferral' ferrets, so he might not be talking out of his ass. After a few generations without any human contact, the ferrets could be classed as wild. The Grey Squirrel is not native to these shores, nor is the rabbit, the pheasant or the brown rat, amongst others, that don't mean they are not wild animals. I've heard of people trying to tame wild polecats, but from what i've heard and read, it seems to be more trouble than it's worth. Your best bet may be
  17. Sorry maybe i didnt explain myself. Over here on the isle of man there are hundreds of ferral ferrets, you see quite alot dead on the roads and we catch quite a lot in traps, they are our main problem killing chickens etc as we have no fox over here. So i suppose they are ferrets that have gone wild over many years, and believe me they are wild!
  18. I live on the isle of man where there are lots of ferrets living wild, i caught a small jill last winter aged about 6 months, she has never really tamed properly so i crossed her with my bew hob and have produced some nice dark kits now aged about 14 weeks. i have handled them from young, but they like the mother dont seem to be able to tame that well, infact they seem to be getting worse, ok one day mad the next. I have bred litters in the past but never experienced anything like this their just wild and seem very nervy, shouting and pissing. Is this a lack of handling or a wild streak from t
  19. Has anybody done any pig hunting in italy? My cousin has moved to the north of italy. When i was over visiting in the summer i spotted some nice working type beagles down the road from his house. Do you think they would be used on pig? They had their ears cropped. I know nothing about this type of sport and was just wondering really what they hunt over there, as i would like to try and have a run out the next time i am over.
  20. I have a kc registered bitch, she looks nothing like them white balls of shite.
  21. Cracking looking dog there mate, i hope he turns out well for you, he looks as if hes from good stuff.
  22. Thanks for all the replies cracking looking dog and bitch you have there springfield, they look in great condition. I agree with you about the twisting and turning on quarry, as if on rails.
  23. I have just got hold of a racing whippet for my mother n law as a pet. She is 2 years old and stands at about 22". All she has done for most of her life is sprint over 100 yard races. Had her at our local terrier, lurcher show at the weekend and ran her in the lure racing, fastest thing i think anyone had seen. How do they get on in the field work wise ie stamina, can they run a big eared rabbit or do they just blow up after a short burst. Also after running in straight lines will she learn to turn.
  24. I like the look of that liver dog lawrence. I know what you mean about nose to the ground, i have two bedddy whippet x one is great on the lamp, but when the other gets a bit tired she tends to put nose to ground. I have found some of the smaller dogs tend to go in the bush after the rabbit if they miss it and that can be a pain while out lamping.
