    A dog at 5/6 year old is in his prime. The reason you wait until then is because if you breed of a dog at 2yr old and rear pups from said dog that dogs only got at the most 1 full season under his belt even if that! Why would you breed off something that you don't know is a quality animal? You don't, so you wait until you know and then you go. Simples
