Thanks Tiercel, that's great. I'll resend the other two photos separately.
-
I've just emailed three photos to Tiercel (via photobucket I hasten to add and it pasted them without any problems). Tried it again straight to here but still not working. I'm certain it must be something I'm neglecting to do but no idea what.

It's definitely worth stepping over to "the dark side" Phil. When I got Rust I had no expectations and just wanted to enjoy him as a mate to tag along while I hunted with my lurcher but his character won me over. Whenever I describe it to people I liken it to Victor Kiam on the Remington ads: "I liked it so much I bought the company." As I've said on here many times before I don't catch anywhere near as much as people with even mediocre lurchers but I love every minute of it.
-
Ah...so you've seen him already.

I tried on a separate thread in the bushing dog section but gave up in the end as I couldn't get it up...the photo that is!

One of my kelpies was an extreme one man dog but the others have all been friendly. As mentioned above, like all pastoral breeds, they can vary a lot in temperament but I'd say the average kelpie is outgoing. The problem is that many people, particularly in the U.K., think that because Australian Cattle Dogs and Australian Kelpies are related that they're similar in character but that's like comparing a border and bearded collie or a Welsh and English springer. A few years ago my eldest was in the vets for a night after stitches and when I picked him up he had a particularly weepy eye whic

The problem with a code of conduct, or anything along those lines, is that everyone has a different opinion. I know it's not exactly a code of conduct but look at the hunting act...somebody obviously thought that made sense else it wouldn't have been passed yet many would disagree. Come to think of it...many would disagree that those who passed it thought it made sense...but I digress. I know we have to have rules in place for many elements of our lives else anarchy and chaos would ensue, but I can't see us all finding ONE way of ferreting, ONE way of coursing, ONE way of bushing, ONE way

One last try them I'm giving up...still no luck. I've had one last thought...what if I hand type the enormous address...would that work? I even found a youtube video showing you how to do it but nothing seemed different. Edited to add that I've found the pinned thread by Malt with the photobucket guide but it says exactly the same as Jigsaw and Tiercel were already telling me. I've also read through some forums on photobucket but just the same. To end...if I never get a photo of him up...just imagine that a Rottweiler has mated a corgi and one of the offspring has then been mat

Wanted Hampshire Permission - Help Me I Will Help You
Neal replied to Dawid Kołodziej's topic in Rabbit Shooting
I'm in Hampshire too, though further to the east, and my permission's currently being "developed" under concrete...I can't drive though so all my dog work is within walking distance...but as they're kelpies that's probably a wider circle than most. Good luck finding someone. -
Thanks all. Don't worry, I wasn't asking for tips (the coats on my three are fine), I just thought it was worth sharing and seeing if anybody else had heard of it.
-
Still no luck. I can't believe that such a simple thing could be so difficult to achieve. Somewhere in the world there's a random thread with dozens of photos of a kelpie pup.
-
I think I've just enabled the codes under the thumbnails....however, it still does nothing when I "paste." I know it's something obvious that I'm overlooking but I simply can't work out what it is.
-
Just given it another go and still no luck. Also, there's no URL (is that right) under the thumbnails i.e. I can't select to copy them until they're enlarged. It then turns yellow and says copied momentarily whether I do a single or double left click. I then try pasting in the topic reply box via either the right click and paste or the paste icon at the top of the box but all produce absolutely nothing. I'm nonplussed.
-
No; nothing comes up in the post at all. I assume I'm just thinking I've selected it when I've not actually done it...though the "copied" hi-lighted in yellow seems clear enough. Ho hum...I'll try again and if that doesn't work I'll leave it until tonight. Thanks though! Still no luck, though I've just tried various different left and right click combinations as well as the control + v. One thing I've noticed is that the number in the address doesn't change when I select a different photo which is making me think I've not actually selected it.
-
Well, that didn't work! I'm selecting the image in photobucket on a separate tab. Double left clicking the img to the right of the enlarged image (after which it momentarily turns yellow and says copied). Then returning to the tab with hunting life and selecting paste from right click within the post.

This is the first time I've used photobucket for a while so I'll just put up the one photo, to see if I've managed it, before telling you more about him. This is the first photo I was sent when he was born and his head was so much bigger than the other available pups that I decided to call him Noggin.
-
Thanks again. My daughter's having a nap so I'll give it a go now.
-
Bit long winded, but is it worth trying to give him a positive experience in the same spot and build him up gradually e.g. feed him in the same field but right in the middle and gradually get him closer over the course of time. It's so difficult to give advice for things like this as there can be no way of knowing which signals a dog is picking up on. One example, my old kelpie is deaf now so I have to use hand signals coupled with a light tap on the back. To put him out in his kennel at night I was using a beckoning motion with a raised hand which he got immediately. However, sometime lat

Thanks Jigsaw, I'll give it a go. Probably put it in the bushing dog section as, being without ferrets at the moment, I can't really call him a ferreting dog yet. Apologies for taking up so much of your thread.

Yay....I'm not as much of an idiot as I thought...I've downloaded the app and uploaded some photos. However, now I can't find the idiots' guide to posting photos. Can anybody help, either by putting up a link or writing an idiots' guide for idiots who can't even find an idiots' guide.
-
"Back end of a donkey"...that's what Noggin looks like!
-
Thanks Tiercel; I did notice that app when I was on the site and wondered if it would be appropriate.

Sorry to pinch some space on your thread Jigsaw...but I've eventually found my photobucket account (not used it for five years or more) but I couldn't upload (or is it download) the photos from the Lumia to my HP pavilion laptop. It said I needed to install something from a site called Zunu (or something like that) and I'm always wary of downloading something in case I pay for it without realising. Technophobe. Any advice?

Sometimes you want to hear it from the horse's mouth...but sometimes you don't. I've not had lurchers for nine years now but my last one was from his first litter of kelpie/collie x greyhounds and was the best lurcher I'd owned. It was his temperament that made me change to pure kelpies over fourteen years ago. Like all crosses they don't suit everyone so try to meet a few first and see if they suit you. They're intelligent and can be very obedient but they know what to do and prefer to do it their way. You can turn them into push button dogs but you'd loose the kelpie in them if you did.

I've never been to either as I'm one of those weird people who doesn't like paying money to scare myself and vomit...but...if you've got very young kids then Alton Towers has just opened a cbeebies world which I might take my two to this summer.
