    Thanks for the advice. The Shotgun is for practical shotgun and i'll put the proper clubs name down on the form just didnt want to advertise which clubs i shoot at on a public forum. Oops forgot to put .22LR as caliber in the post but will put it on the FAC form. I'll probably only get the FAC shotgun and semi-auto 22.lr to start with but was advised to apply for more so i dont need to change it at a later date and cost.

    I'm about to put in for my FAC and going to ask for a suppressor since when i finally find a permision to shoot will use one of the rimfires for hunting. But do i have to put the suppressor in a separate line on the guns list or can i just put .22LR Sporting Bolt action with suppressor?     I’m after a section 2 pump action shotgun that can be converted to section 1 once I get my FAC for Practical shotgun. Ideally a Benelli Nova or Super nova would be nice but realistically out of my price range so what have you got to offer? The Closer to Hampshire the better please so I can take a look before I make a decision.

    Think we where using bird shot? Shotguns are a new thing to me so I dont know anything about them really.

    Just had my first time shooting shotguns after many years using airguns and rimfire at a practical shotgun shoot today and after managing to double feed and jamming the pump action up think I need to look at the semi-auto since the Remington I used worked with no problems. BUT here’s the thing, I have a weak shoulder due to a bike accident 5 years ago so if I’m going the shotgun route I need a semi-auto with a softer recoil so I could use it all day without cause any problems so what do people suggest?

    Good luck finding somwhere in Hampshire. I'm still looking for land to shoot on despite all the letters sent out and doors i have knocked on to ask . Seems no one in Hampshire want to take on new Shooter unfortunitly.

    Just wandering if anyone on here shoots practical shotgun since looking to get a shotgun but don’t fancy the toffs in tweed brigade doing clay pigeon and thought Practical shotgun looks more fun and being a semi or pump action should be a good gun for pigeons as well?

    Looking for a realtree style waterproof/windproof fleece with a minimum of size 50 chest since all the ones I see on e-bay are usually only a 46 which wont fit me and been advised against the Jack Pyke stuff. Can do straight swap for Italian Greatcoat if interested.

    I'm looking at getting a gun cabinet so i can get maybe a shotgun but primarily a .22 rimfire and was looking at the Brattonsound RL5 but wonderd if there is anything else out there cheaper but similar with the depth for scoped rifles and ammo locker inside?

    Should of said looking for Stockman style wax cotton jacket 3/4 or full length if doing a straight swap.

    Bought this awhile back after months of searching for one big enough since most greatcoats only come in smaller sizes. I have a 48 chest and this fits me comfortably but only gets used once or twice a year if it snows so time to sell it to pay for a wax cotton jacket that would get used more since my current synthetic waterproof jacket has died. Looking for £55 posted.

    I'm after a new jacket as well since my Tresspass waterproof jacket got soaked through with the constant rain this weekend and need somthing water/wind proof. Been told to stear clear of Jack Pike stuff since it's cheap for a reason but i'm on a budget so cant afford more that £100 just for a jacket for occational wet use. Also anothr problem is i need jackets with at least a size 50" chest so it does limit my choice.

    Great thread since i was going to ask the same since need some ear defenders for rimfire shoots at the club. Not too keen on things than go into my ears like plugs since they block out too much sound but then dont want to bugger up my hearing either by having ones that dont work so basically are the electric one worth it and what sort of price range should i be looking at for a basic set up?

    I have recently joined a small bore club and they recommend I put in for my FAC now which makes sense with the waiting but at present I don’t have any permission to shoot so I guess I can only apply for licence for sporting club shoots? Will it cost me extra to add rabbit/pigeon hunting to the FAC categories at a later date since I presume no permission to shoot at present will mean unlikely to get hunting as a category on first application?

    Brattonsound RL5 gun case or similar to fit 3-4 scoped rifles with ammo locker somewhere near to Hampshire please. I’m new to shooting so need my 1st gun cabinet only have legal air rifle at present but looking at getting scoped rim fire .22 and possibly a shot gun at some point so has to have the space to expand any future collection.
