    Not been able to get out much due to the rain so last night me and Tony made the most of a dry evening, I used the 17hmr for the last couple of hours of daylight and then switch over to the .22LR and lamp. Plenty about and a reasonable bag..........................40 something.

    These threads always make me laugh, every other forum members name on here is either p***y or Poacher............................................... I don't even bother lamping with the dog anymore it just not worth the hassle, The Police are called even when your on permission and then the aggro of contacting the farmer late at night. Farmers in this area won't entertain lamping anymore, a very sad fact but true thanks to Pikeys and Poachers.

    I shoot all summer long because if I didnt I wouldn't have a farm to shoot ferret and run the dogs on. I dont enjoy shooting young rabbits but it feeds my dogs and keeps Farmer Piles happy.

    Took the dogs out for a spin between rain showers this evening, there were a few rabbits out feeding in the safety of the long grass, Ted managed to pick one up here and then took off after another with the first one still in his mouth. The next fields are a cereal crop with a small grass border all round, at the bottom end there are normally a few rabbits about, the dogs have to be on ther toes here because if they get summat to bolt its got a very short sprint to safety...............................

    There are too many numpties that own running dogs and terriers, we are our own worst enemies. its these people we should be worried about.............................

    My feral Polecat is the same, all my other Jills are laid back but she gets a bit naughty..................just give her some space and she will be right as rain when the kits have gone.

    Nice to see ferreting from different locations around the world, My sister lives in wollongong and what amazed me when we visited was how green and lush the countryside was..............well done mate keep at them.

    Was out last night with the rimmys, the 17 and the .22 doing some pest control in and around the orchard. Nice to see that there is still a good number of rabbits still knocking around. Started off using the 17 and as the night draw on I changed over to the .22. Ended up with 36 rabbits. One of the rabbits had both ears missing................
