  1. Best of luck pal I know of someone that has 2 x track greyhound bitch's that are doing ok. One bitch you could hardly get near at first but has turned into a lovely bitch now and has made me think about getting one. recall and retrieving and start off daytime only for a while , that's what I'd do
  2. Mud the dog in you avatar is that still around was it a first cross?
  3. Just because it looks like a game dog don't mean it is one! Cull Hard! Good luck mate what ever you decide to do
  4. Yeah plenty of dogs that have showed signs of jacking then given the summer off will look ok for a couple of digs!!!
  5. This was my old bitch she was bred in Russia and had a good nose, had average ability but showed gameness I do miss the old bitch but I think she was a throw back and a one off and never bred a good pup. I wouldn't chance having another one really unless a game line ever existed lol
  6. I agree with game rooster just because it looks like a pit bull doesn't mean it's game. I think it's probably harder to find a non bull blooded lurcher that will do the job nowerdays Simply because the bull x exists , also the quality of blood that is used in first x's weather it be collies bedlingtons bulldogs [BANNED TEXT] ever is harder to find dogs worth using that are well proven!!!
  7. Brian Steven 72. That old dog did it all regularly and plenty of good lads see him do it too. As for percentages in them you can get a greyhound and a bulldog out of the same litter, The more bull the better in my opinion , half cross or 5/8x3/8 and pick a smaller pup with a long back to get a racey one
  8. Some old pics for samba, hbg's blue, Sash out of blues sister and by Remus and a son of blues. attachment=247175:image.jpg]
  9. Best of luck mate we've been looking for a proper one since about March , luckily other mates have been visiting with there terriers and the young lurcher has picked up the slack lol
  10. Does anyone remember this bitch Barry's Flop, I think she was by the dark destroyer. Thanks.
  11. Does anyone know of a dog by golly out of honey that went up Shropshire ?
  12. Alright lads I'm again looking for a stud dog that's by golly as the one I wanted to use is no longer available. The dog must be out of a bull greyhound and must be a proven worker that's worked regularly or was worked regularly on all quarry. I really want to do this half brother half sister mating the next time my bitch comes in probably about October time but if not I have another dog in mind to use but he's unrelated and ideally I'd like to line breed as it'll be the bitches last litter and they will not be for sale. I have looked back on old posts and members like d.f.k. Penda and wag
  13. I'd go for a genuine first cross every time , just pick a racier one if that's what you need
  14. I didn't , 3 of my best mates did on several occasions and a fella I know was the last person to own and work him .
  15. Nice dogs trunk , But seriously only a non hunting dog warden anti would ask a question like that.
  16. I worked in Saudi and had the regular opportunity to see a high up member of royalty's salukis and kennels . LOAD of shit mate, dead dogs in kennels , everything as bad as you can imagine it and were hunted 2/3 times a year in all the years I was there. The best hunting dog I saw over there belonged to a Saudi soldier it looked more like a saluki based lurcher , there was no breeding program or anything if a desert dog covered one of their bitch's they'd still be kept and bred. . (A desert dog in Saudi is what people call the wild feral dogs over there) in my opinion you'd be luc
  17. If my opinion line breeding ,family breeding call it what you like it's the only way to go forward breed the best to the best out of the same family to improve the family and create better dogs with more consistently good dogs out of each litter aiming for litters of all consistently dependable game working litters because basically we are breeding mongrel's .. You have to look at the whole litter because you'll only get the average of your dogs gene pool when you breed him, so if you have an average ok dog but he's bred of excellent parents and grand parents he will invariably out produce t
  18. I think he did cover one bitch I don't know how they turned out though ratkilla might know, he was a big camel lol. that's an old photo I didn't know you had it, it's a bad one of him he was better looking than even with his droopy lip and daft head haha
  19. She's out of a first cross bitch that Ben owned from Merthyr I can never remember her name she was a black brindle and was by a dog that was imported from Ireland , that's what I was told anyway?
