Yes they are mate, if taken from the wild!!, but mine has been hand reard from 4wks old, and i think the mother and father of mine have had quite a few litters of kits before mine, ive seen and held the mother and she seem ok, not seen the father though so carnt coment on him,

I agree with you there Rake aboot, we always take out the good workers, it does take time training a new ferret, we do most of our ferreting with bop's so it not good when your standing around waiting for the ferret to learn the job, our ferrets work the warren and are back to hand when the job is done... other wise the birds start to get board and mess about, i think this year il do a bit with the whippet to start the new kits off, but not till end of season, work out which ones are good and work quick, dont mind standing around with the dog, training the ferret...

Im going to buy some chicken tonight and try him on that, im not really that bothered if he dont eat meat, he looks healthy and is eating all the dry food, he had some boiled eggs the other day so hes not starving...

Sorry Tallyho im still trying to resize them, ive tried putting them up but it keeps saying file to big, a mate of mine is going to have a go at resizeing them for us, im not very good with computers and that, so as soon as hes sorted it il be putting a few up of Wolverine dont worry........ Hes coming on great no biteing getting on with my other jills, but hes not eating any meat, just sniffs it then walks away, he would rather have milk and dry ferret food...

Cracking hutch there bud, dont worry what other arse wits say about it, i make all my own and have done since i was about 10, and you will keep adding to it or trying to make a better one everyone does, all my ferrets are in a court now so loads of room for them, well done!!!!! at least you can get pictures up on her i carnt seem to do it lol...

I just let my son name them, he once named a jill about 7yrs ago now "tinkerbell" can you imagine how i felt calling her name when i was out with the lads hunting lol.... now there names are of superheros so getting better......

Hi Andy i left my jills together and they both brought them up, the mother will stop raggin the other one about soon, she still with them now and they are nearly 7wks old now, infact the jill that didnt have the kits is more protected over them, to great mums lol... atb Chris

so what ye saying is ye just paid 50 for a dark ferret?? :laugh: No what im saying is i carnt get a DNA test to prove to people on here that he is a pure polecat!!!

And ive just found out off a very good friend who has alot to do with ferrets and polecats that you carnt tell through DNA testing if its a wild polecat or a ferret, they will take blood off any ferret or polecat but the result will be the same, its impossible to tell the differance, i.e that there are loads of ferrets left or lost in the wild and over the years that have mated with the wild polecat. The polecat and ferret are from the same family. if there are any vets on this forum it would be nice to hear your views on this matter? He said that it also states in a very good book on polecat

I got him for breeding, not for working i have 3jills that do all the work for me and my birds, plus a mate has his ferrets to work? altogether we have 10 working jills through out the winter and one very good hob, thats the one who is the father of my litter of kits..... you wouldnt breed off an unproven dog or hawk so why ferret? Now everyone has just assumed that im working him and the jills he might go over? There is so called show ferrets out there (polecats) all types of colours!! and i think he would throw off some excellent looking kits, hes a good looking hob and a nice col

And you are????? 50 quid better off,,,cheeky cnut !! lol :laugh: how to make friends in only 26 easy posts !! hhahahahah dont tell me a ferret expert!! only kept them for 23 years bud, so no, not an expert yet, if i wanted to spend £100 i will, money is'nt everything, you carnt take it with you when you kick the bucket!!! Mckay seemed ok like ive said i dont know the guy but was chatting to him about the mother and father, if he was bull sh****g then there is f*** all i can do about it, i liked the look of the hob i brought so i was happy, end of story!!!!! I`m glad

I'd check it's balls his stock are and produce one balled ferrets Not that id want one anyway , even if it had both balls : / Hes 13weeks old mate hes got no balls yet!!!!! Have a feel mate all male mammals have balls from berth they dont grow them layer on you know ,???? He might have them sorry my mistake, they havent dropped yet, was what i ment to say.....
