  1. do it for free, sell the rabbits, if she pays for diesel so much the better. give her a good word because she will definately have some friends with a similiar problem. do a good job and show your face often word will soon get around how good you are
  2. how come stumpy not moved or deleted this post?? he did when i tried telling people i had something for sale
  3. The locator works at 457khz, which is the international standard for radiodetection in applications such as avalanche beacons. ALL ferret/terrier finder applications work at this frequency be it analogue (deben MK1) or digital (deben MK3). however 457 is a big waveband so the tuning has to be spot on. Deben have not been so silly to leave any numbers on any chips ive seen in the last 20 years, but with the aid of a good circuit diagram, a basic knowledge of radio reciever circuits, and a lot of patience it would be easy to find the chip numbers. unfortunately i do not have much time or patie
  4. i was thinking £40 collected. or will post them for whatever it costs. i am on the bucks / northants border. they are brand spanking and only one has ever been out of its packet never used. trying to upload some pics but cant get it to work at the minute
  5. got some brand new mk1 collars for sale, got a 15' terrier collar as well, anyone interested??
  6. that must be a crap dog in the picture as well then as well as working with crap ferrets
  7. if my ferrets are crap then we had better go out together then, so i can see how its done properly. i work up to six ferrets in some of the larger warrens of 100+ holes and go home with catches of 30+ on most occassions. in my opinion ferrets need to be fit and determined not great fat things as big as cats and so fed up they would rather curl up and go to sleep down the hole rather than actually work for a meal.
  8. not me. keep them hungry, they work better. but not too hungy they kill and lie up. if you didnt have to work for your food you wouldnt bother would you?
  9. This years ferrets for sale. Located in north bucks. Mainly hobs left. All flesh fed and well handled. All from good working stock. Polecat, Albino, and black eyed whites.
  10. Back on this old chestnut again. Ive scoured the internet, back posts etc. does any one know the numbers that deben scratched off the chips in the Mk1 locator boxes??? I know deben have a patent on the design and dont want you to copy it but i aint paying silly money to get them repaired. I dont want to 'upgrade' to a Mk3, All i want is those numbers. Most comon cause of the Mk1 playing up is dry joints on the solderring, normally on the depth wheel. Unfortunately ive got a box with bigger problems now and have tested it all except for those chips.
  11. None so far as i know, been seling them to local butchers, pubs and general public for as long as i can remember and never had any problems. Never even heard of a license for selling them as far as i know theyre just vermin so dont require certificates etc.
  12. How much 17 ammo are you allowed on your ticket?? Just had the policeman come out to inspect me fathers cabinet, he wants a 17. and the copper told him he wont be allowed to buy 500 rounds at a time cos they are tightening the controls on ammo. Is this right? cos i got 500 for my 22. Apart from flatter trajectory and higher velocity i cant see a lot of difference between the two for vermin control.

hows about setting the poles in daytime, something nice and cheap like hazel, possibly painting the tops white so you can see them in the dark. come back at night peg one end, work along tying off the topline on every peg, peg off the other end and bobs your uncle. all depends how legit the quarry is a dozen white tipped poles in the ground at regular intervals is a bit of a giveaway
  14. I always feed everything whole. Doesnt do them any harm, there is nothing left of it in the morning so they must eat it and its no as though they are hungry either. I read somewhere too that part digested plant material was good for them as well. If they didnt like it they wouldnt eat it and mine all do.
  15. What is the best air pistol I can get my hannds on??? preferrably something I can tune up quite easily. I had a .22 break barrel thing brought over from germany some years back, was brilliant for sorting things out in the live traps, until some bugger nicked it from the back of my truck last week.
