Available Pigeon/fox Shooting Available South Wales
Mitchell Thompsett posted a topic in Pigeon Shooting
Hi all, as above I have some pigeon shooting available on a farm in llanvapley Abergavenny. I do not know how to build a hide or decoy or shoot pigeons at all basically but can shoot well with a shotgun- would like someone to teach me how to pigeon shoot with all the associated bits and bobs tactics etc in return for a day out and you can keep all the pigeons we shoot. As long as you are fairly experienced and can actually teach me something! Lol Not massive amount of pigeons but I have a 10 acre ish field around barns and a 23 acre field both just grass at the moment- also a small wood -
Hi mate what scope and mod is on this? Whereabouts are you based? And could I see a few pics please? Cheers, Mitch
-
Hi Roy, could I possibly have a few pictures please? I'm based in Newport and work in bristol so F2F no probs. I'll PM you now. Cheers, Mitch

I think thats true mate to an extent. If the little bones in you ear didn't vibrate then you wouldn't hear anything at all. However, for clay shooting I would always wear full ear defenders rather than just plugs Mitch

Well lads I've finally bitten the bullet and bought a shotgun! I was looking at the browning maxus and A5, but sportsmans gun centre had a beretta A400 xcel sport with the new kick off recoil system- £1500 new, but got a second hand one in literally MINT condition for £900- steal!! (With obligatory freebies!) Anyone had experience with these? It's got a cracking piece of wood on it, and I'll be picking it up next Tuesday so will post pics ASAP! Cheers, Mitch

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has experience with either or both of these rifles and could tell me which is better and why? Savage is more expensive but there isn't deal on which means I can get the savage with a Nicki sterling scope and mod, and Harris bills for £590 brand new. Seems a bargain! But am I better off going for the well known CZ? Both thumb holes though! Will be either .17hmr or .22lr Any advice appreciated! Cheers, Mitch

For Sale Saab 9-3 Linear Sports Wagon 1.9 Tid 150 Bhp
Mitchell Thompsett replied to bobjs's topic in Vehicles & Quads
I can vouch for this. Bought an 11 plate 9-3 180bhp turbo and it does 50mpg combined at least and rapid off the blocks. Solid car and absolutely worth the money. Parts are now cheap and service has never been more than £250 including parts and labour! Good luck with the sale mate! -
I think for me it was the innate natural desire to hunt and do 'boy stuff'! Always used to play with toy guns and bows and arrows, and Got my first air pistol when I was 8 (webley tempest) and progressed from there! More kids need to get into the countryside these days I think. (Forgive me for sounding like an old fart then!) Mitch

Its even cheaper if you do it yourself, lots of good instructions on youtube, my mate the Seeker did his trigger on his 10/22 and it improved it a hell of a lot, rimfire magic up at Barnsley do some awesome custom 10/22s I know a lad thats got one, and it is amazingly accurate. Ah tidy thanks for the tip mate I'll have a little look online! Got to admit I am swaying towards a 10/22 at the moment! Cheers, Mitch -

Yer struggling to find other gun shops in reach to be honest! May just have to go with SGC although it will kill me! I noticed the trigger on the 453 and heavily modified 10/22 was super smooth and broke like glass. Couldn't believe it and the trigger job for 10/22 is only £70/£! Ah decisions decisions. Going down the range tomorrow so hopefully will be able to make my mind up. Bought some sniper fire firebird targets so hopefully they will go off in the rain! lol -

That's pretty tidy mate! Went to sportsmans and tried the cz512 and the ruger 10/22 with upgrades trigger- totally changed my view on the 10/22 because of the trigger and match barrel and nicer stock! Only £550 as well! They pretty much confirmed that they are dickheads though. Asked the one guy what are the differences between the CZ452/453/455 are and he sarcastically said 'well they're different models' Currently looking at other gunshops in my area! -

Yer well looking at the 10/22's I'm seeing very high numbers (£600/£700) for what seems to be a standard gun with a bad stock and no frills :/ Defo need to test the 511 out now then! All failing that the Savage 93R17 btvs would look nice in the cabinet... -

Tried reloading at a friends house once- was actually really good fun and could see myself really getting into that and getting the best loads that I can etc! Almost therapeutic! -

Aye good point on the bolt action. Have you tried the CZ511 or 512 is it the semi auto one? Might have a little play with that- only thing is that I tend to blast off the rounds at the range with the semi auto- when using rich's Mauser bolt action .22 I spent about half as much in twice the time! Just need to figure out what accessories I need now- bipod, mods, scope etc. already got a cracking deal on a bushnell elite 6500... Any recommendations for bipods, laser rangefinders etc?
