  1. xs 20 is as good as youll get for the money, i bought mine for shooting rats, but then took it on my rabbit shoot, no problems at all at 40 yards, sold it on and the guy who has it is well suited, ( I sold it to get a bsa xl tactical, a lot lighter) I love a springer to change from my PCPs, its a skill in itself.

  4. My dogs are my companions, I spend a lot of time with em, their welfare and well being is paramount, too many young guys these days use their dogs as tools and put em back in the shed when theyre not in use, nothing wrong showing your dogs a little love and affection, they give plenty to you, unconditionally, it doesnt make em better workers by treating them unkindly, I hear down the club guys boasting about, how I kicked shit off it when it didnt come back strait away! fools, I would like to kick shit off the clowns that mistreat their animals, and I call mistreating sending them into unknow
  5. Thats exactly what my dog does but the bitch as she is much smaller she goes down. To retun to the original point of this topic, what do people think about terriers whilst out walking, come back back covered in blood from presumably rabbits. Dont want to bang on about it, just like to get opinions from people who know there subject . They are family pets that I would like to start ratting with once Ive been shown the ropes. Like to give you some advice about rattin with terriers mate but ide get accused of talkin bollocks
  6. I have 2 jackie bitches, wire haired is the biggest, and she comes shooting with me , the little smooth hair is tiny and I dont take her anywhere where theres sets for that reason, she will go to ground and dig down there, Ive dug terriers out in the past succesfully, and Ive also been in digs where the dogs have been taken out dead, f****n heartbreaking, my advice mate is keep them awayfrom holes of any description
  7. The Vulcan was voted european air rifle of the year 1983, manufacturers reckoned it would kill a rabbit at 70 yards, dont know about that but mine stopped plenty in its time, I sold it on for what I thought was better, wished i hadnt now.
  8. I replaced the plastic bolt and trigger with brass from Blackpool air rifles, and with the 10 shot mag its a cracking little gun, I also have a falcon hawk 8 shot, and although I like it, its not a patch on the S 210! as I like to call it.

    First Gun

Guy did the test in shooting life and said in his opinion its the best springer BSA have produced, also one of the best springers on the market, I tried air arms tx 200 first, lovely gun but u need to be arnold scwarzeneger to lug it round your shoot, ive had springers in the past from relum tornados to webley vulcans, and I loved my webley stingray, but the tactical is without doubt superior to em all, (in my opinion).

  15. u can get a dedicated airsource shut of valve from COOPER T PRODUCTS in the states that is made for the king rat catcatcher, allows u to cut the air supply to the gun after each shoot, about £25 delivered.
  16. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talking about springers, I just got myself a BSA LX TACTICAL .22, I was a bit worried about my own performance with it after shooting a PCR for so long, need'nt to have worried, left the PCR at home and took the Tactical on my shoot after zeroeing it in as best i could in my garden, first shot in the field a rabbit at 25 yards, head shot clean as a whistle, just twitched a bit, 2 more after that and a woody on the way back, a guy wrote a letter in to Airgunner about the pleasures of learning to shoot with a sp
  17. young uns just dont use their loaves, 15 year old kid in my town came walking out of the woods on to the housing estate grinning like the imbecile that he is with a deer slung over his shoulder and a pair of lurchers trotting next to him, the judge said! and his father in the club thought hed been treated unfairly, ide of given the daft little t--t a slap had he been mine.
  18. thanks for all the advice guys, ive taken it all on board and will let you know the outcome.
  19. Hello mate, new here myself, seems like a very interesting community, just down the road from u, cleveland.
  20. Wonder if any of u terrier lads can help me out with a problem, I feel embarassed asking as Ive had terriers all my life, problem is my 18 month old jackie bitch, soon as I let her off the lead she buggers off, u would think she was on a mission, just goes in a strait line, oh she comes back with a lot of whistling and shouting, but by then theres nowt in sight, her sister is a different dog all together, works the bushes and never lets me out of her sight, cracking little dog, thing is the other is a better worker when u get her down to it, its no good clouting her when she does come back ( I
  21. talking about BSA springers, got an XL TACTICAL .22 delivered last week, bit worried about accuracy and performance after my PCR, zeroed it in and took it on my shoot, crackin little gun, first shot in the field rabbit at 30 yards, head shot clean as a whistle, love it, 2 more after that, cant sing its praises highly enough.
