  2. have read good reviews and comments on the mtc mamba 4-16 x50 ... I'm going to get one for my sako quad hmr ... £200 with mounts , sun shade and tools

Thanks for the input ...deciding to.go for a nikko stirling gameking 6-24 x 44 or a JSR Target Pro 6-24x44 and if i dont get on with it.. will save up and get a mtc mamba 4-16 x 50 .( have read they are quite good ). also will take my 800 x 60 astrononmical telescope with me next time i go and do a bit of target practice

Hi . got a friend thats applying for his fac ..he has got a gun cabinet he wants to fix to the only solid wall inside a fitted wardrope. but if he uses the holes on the back of the cabinet the door would open in a way making it an akward access ... would it be ok to drill new holes into the side of the cabinet and fix it the the wall that way the door would be face on to him giving him better access

I'm looking for a better scope. at the moment i have got a richter optik 3-9 x 50 ... and when i was zeroing this scope at 100 yards i had to walk all the way to the target to see the grouping . what mag scope would i need to see the grouping from the scope.? would a 4-16 x 50 let me see the grouping or would i need to go for a higher mag of 6 -24 x 50?... atb mark
  7. yes i agree ...i know the scope aint the best .. but it was a panic buy just to get me up and running ... i am in the middle of saving up for a better one ATB mark
  8. When i first thought about taking up shooting i didnt think it was going to cost me as much as it has. I thought yeah get my licence and buy a second hand rifle and go out shooting for about £300. but as i got more into reading about shooting i knew it anit as cheap i first expected ... licence fee £50 , brattonsound gun cabinet + a safe from argos for my ammo £143, sako quad rifle £600 , sak sound mod £35 richter optik scope £48 Rifle slip £15 total £891 ... oh and ammo at £11 abox ... but now i know its worth every penny did any body else spend more than they first e
  9. I had the same problems when i was looking for a .17hmr ... was going to get a cz .. but i did not like the look of the trigger guard so decided to splash out extra £200 and get the sako quad .. very happy with my choice

Hi, went to my parents today for dinner ..anyway as she is a sewing machiness i asked her if she could knock me up a stock cover / shell carrier ... so she did ..only took her 15 mins ... and this evening i have converted an small telescope tripod into a tripod for my rifle .. feels stable and i'm able to sit the rifle solid and still ... should help getting a tighter group now

  12. what a great rifle .. and what a fun morning i had .. set up two targets one at 50 yard the other at 100 yards and set myself up on a bench . . took aim at the 50 yard target first and fired of two rounds and did see where they went .. so wasnt sure what adjustment to do on the scope ... so i removed the bolt and looked down the barrel so i could see my target then without moveing the rifle i adjusted my scope ... fired off a few more and was hitting the target .. made a few more adjustments and i was quiet happy .was getting a good group at the bullseye.. so on to the 100 yard target . was
  13. Hi all .. got myself a brand new sako quad in .17hmr today and plan to zero it in tomorrow ... the forecast gives a wind speed of 11mph Is that going to effect the bullet too much ? and as this will be the first time i will be using a rifle is there any other advice you can give me ATB mark

  19. Hi .. i have decided to save up for a new sako quad ..hope to get one the end of januray .. for a extra £40 i can go for the heavy barrel .. is spending that extra £40 worth it .. mind you i do like the monte carlo stock that comes with the varmint model

  23. During my interview my FEO told me i had a 50/50 chance of getting my fac due to my drink driving and a puplic order caution...i got mine
  24. On my application i put down .17hmr and .22lr..but during the interview i told the FEO i was thinking about getting a sako quad .17hmr so she crossed out the .22lr but but a .22lr barrel in the future
