  1. asha is a user name on here who recently bred some some 3/4 deer greys but im not sure if sire or the bitch was 1st x ,someone will know if they were sold on here, just edited this as ive just looked @your link and its states 5/8th 3/8ths so this is a different litter all the best with them
  2. if its a 3/4 it could be asha's breed(possibly)not 100% on that just guessing, ive only had mine out 3 times and she s doing ok ,plenty of time yet but dont want to count my chickens cheers for the quick reply gibbo
  3. hi rascal where did you get that pup from ?been the same line as mine (doxhope),my sire called" boots" was originally bills dog now bill has packed up trev cook took his dogs and some bitches and now breeding some pures and had some 1st x litters he just bought a dog pup from scotland which will be about 13 months now and the sire to that bill said it was probably the best fox dog in ireland so hes trying to keep a good working line going theres quite a few dogs and bitches now kicking about on this site and seem to be doing well ,hope yours turns out well for you ,
  4. get it xray'd as i did then you'll know the damage ,i left mine a while but she came lame more and more so finally went for x ray she shattered it right close to her 1st digit (our knuckle on our hands ) and vet decided to take it off close as possible to the knuckle she was off for a while 8 wks or so but runs in full flight with no lameness my best tip would be to x ray is asap not leave it for weeks and try her again because if it is badly damaged you ve lost some time in the heeling proces
  5. when i see something in the beam i always hiss ive done this with all my dogs and again she s picked it up within her 1st 3 runs and now shes beginning to follow lamp , very early doors thou, roll on 15 /18 months when i can really put her to the test ,just need plenty of bunnys for her confidence but quite scarce at the moment ps thanks for the comments
  6. a little bit of bruising but not too bad for her 1st catch as she mouthed it alot as she was very chuffed with herself
  7. heres a couple of pics from fri night me and a mate went lamping and had 2 each pics of rabbit skinned is her 1st one from 2 wks ago his dog whippet x but i'll let him tell you more on the breeding as i m not 100%
  8. good one but poor shooting eh lol,i like to walk and excercise them young to get them lungs full of wind , i was walking the 1st x pup a mile a day when it had its jabs on lead of course ,all my pups which i purchase have good chests maybe the breeding but possibly good excercise or a good mixture of both this is my old bitch 4 1/2 yrs (ps its not to spoil the post just a pic of deep chest)again walked and excercised young
  9. i think he has 1 dog pup left 11wks old from a different dog and bitch but 1st x still
  10. heres my young bitch 1st x deer/grey as seen on her other post, cookland bred originated from doxhope (bill doherty's deerhound, now trevs)only 10 months so got plenty of time on her hands
  11. thanks for the comments ,not doing much with her as yet all fields in ploughing or half way thru them been worked and the silage fields are like bell metal plus she s still a puppy had 2hrs with her on lamp a week ago ish but nothing since ,no rush really come december time do alot more but roll on next silage 1st cut cant wait
  12. im not 100% on that one mate its my first ever 1st x ,they say they grow upwards 1st year and outwards 2nd year ,people say different things mate ,i ve mailed bill and and trev cook whose bred these dogs over the years more so bill its his old lines ,his biggest 1st x made 29 "(bitch) but mainly he bred them small and racey
  13. the top pic shows how racey this strain is (bills old lines ,thats how he bred them )and the bottom one shows again the jacket ,she has a little mane but mainly broken coated ,give it a winter or two and no doubt it'll have changed again
  14. yes 1st x deer/grey and last time i measured and weighed her she was 27"tts and 57lb but she s filled out a bit
  15. here she is after todays walk, some pics not great ie eyes shut ,dog to one side etc ,but those of you who have the litter sisters or brothers will probably like these ,shes had one lamping sesh not by all means a all nighter but shown good promise as ive mailed certain lads who wanted to know her progress i'll post some more later ps name changed from csssshantia to this as ive a new mail address cheers
