hi all was shooting with a friend with his AA s400 and was missing the pigeons etc we would usually hit by miles, took the rifle home and couldnt zero it (not enough 'up' adjustment in scope) so tried a different scope and it shot cock on for a while from a full charge (200 bar) then pellets kept dropping at intervals and some shot dead on some low etc. tried scope mount padding to increase up adjustment but with no benefits. had the problem before with his rifle. im thinking it could be the sears/seals have gone (although i believe they were replaced last service?) due to the inconsisten

sorry but didnt know where else to put this thread :S tried shooting someat with a slingshot a few times with friends and have just been walking between or along high dense hedgerows hoping to spot and take a pheasant or pidgeon or even a squatting rabbit but anything we do see catches wind of us to early or we dont see it until we are [bANNED TEXT] on top of it and makes a break for it. tried more open areas also looking for pidgeons and tree rats but this heralds the opposite problem and the game see us a mile off and buggers of before we are in range for even a 'lucky' shot. i am fairly pro

beddy/ whippet id say mate. a few mates have got em and theyre mustard on rabbits. real tough for their size and what they lack in size, they dont half make up for it in heart. only thing to wotch id say is yapping but only seems to happen when theyre run in pairs alot cos they get a bit frustrated i think. and as the above have alredy said hardier on the cold nights out and just physically tougher, especially skin wise as pure whippets pick up tears and cuts easily. ive heard of pure beddys finding some success lamping rabbits so you wont be sacrificing lots of speed especially in the cross y

good story that mate! would like to see a wolfhound cross in the flesh as you say be a nice thing to look at if nothing else. few people round here have got 'pure' wolfies but none 'working' as it were they are pretty quick when they get going in straight lines, see em running on the beach sometimes. turning seems pretty poor evenwen theyre just running for the fun of it rather than actually coursing something, just thought a cross with a greyhound or the like mite make a difference but obviously not!! cheers

22" jesus that must of been a game un'!! bet its a proper spectacle that [bANNED TEXT] way was the dog bred? cheers

size scaled down of a wolfhound obviously not deerhound!! cheers
-
cheers for the replies lads makes for interesting reading!! just thought a stockier deerhound type dog with the size scaled down could do well but obviously the people with more experience have put me [bANNED TEXT]!!, learn something new everyday tho!! thats an interesting post chartpolski didnt know about that suppose it makes sense tho due to the lack of use...and wolves nowadays!! cheers
-
ye thats what i imagined! just thought itd be interesting! cheers

just a question on pre-ban which i thought could be interesting. anyone ever run a wolfhound cross (obviosly majority croosed with a racier dog such as greyhound or deerhound) on the bigger stuff preban?? would obviously as i said be crossed along more racier lines but i thought it could be a good dog for fallow or sika for example if made out of the [bANNED TEXT] stuff? cheers
