  3. i used a 6 inch section of bike tyre innertube threaded on and rolled back on its self. It works a treat.
  4. bushnell banner, nikon prostaff or even an optimate 8x56mm. They would comfortably suit your budget with some change to spend on ammo.

  7. As a general rule 1 pace is a yard and 1 stride is roughly a metre! I am assuming most people walk to collect or inspect their shot/quarry!
  8. Dropped a winchester sub just behind the ear of a hare at 136paces/yards with my rimmy. Which i was more than happy with happy with, havn't had my centerfire long enough to get any good ones in yet.

  13. Yep gossy its a 75 hunter and i stumbled on it purely by chance, went to have a look at a second hand tika. but saw it and changed my mind quickly it was over my budget so didnt bother with a moderator or tripod, but no regrets. ATB Mark

Went out this evening on some new permission, the underkeeper was showing me the boundries as he wanted me to thin the rabbits out a bit. i chanced my arm a bit by taking both rifles with me the rimfire and my new sako 223. its my first centrefire so was keen to get it out. anyway i put both rifles on the back seat and the underkeeper set off showing me the inns and outs of where everything was.   17. After much shopping around and reading rifle reviews i have finally put a deposit down on my first centrefire rifle. Its a Sako 75 in 223 which i will be picking up in 2 weeks. So watch this space!

  19. Have just been ok'd for the above calibre, what rifle scope combination would you recommend, and what type/make of ammo would be a good starting point? shooting olde charlie day and night! Thanks Mark
  20. She is 19" tts and 27lb soft as sh@t but will turn it on when in the field. I keep her in kennels so can't comment on what they are like round the house/ kids. They seem to be a real kind nature probably too affectionate at times! so should be fine.

  22. this is my first cross she is very intelligent and trainable. just a bit slower over distance than my other whippets but she can turn on a penny and get there as quick. Has an outstanding nose and can rat as good if not better than any other terrier. dont mind getting bit and game as owt, but true to being a female she can be as moody as F&$k!
