i found them very confusing the first time out with it with all its bells and whistles but after a few times out with it they are so easy a great bit of kit but as been said make sure you put good quality batterys in the locator and collar and you will be fine
it dependes who was telling you it was too thin ? I get told all the time my dogs are thin by people that dont have a clue ! Get a couple of pics up here and the guys on here will give you a good idea what they think of it

i have a pup at the moment 13 months old he is paddy x bullgrey he is coming on fine doing everything ive asked of him no world beater but getting better all the time !
i wouldnt dream of taking a young dog out with older dogs just to watch all the pups ive had would be so wound up just watching they would be bouncing about on the end of the lead going crazy getting more and more frustrated , i always start pups on there own and try and keep them calm and hopfully thinking and paying attention to what is going on rather than running stupid !!!

My dogs are fit as f**k as well mate and they get fed every day and walked and trotted and miss no meal's and i am hardly what ye would call a fatty and i wont miss a meal either
same with me my dogs are fit and so am i and i eat loads so do my dogs and never miss a meal !
