I thought it was a rare case, but it's something to be aware off. another qestion is...Do all ticks carry lymes or just a small amount? and can it affect a Pug?
-
I know ferrets can pick up ticks sometimes, mine have had them now and then. When I firsted started out I smeared them with vaseline but now I use spot-on or frontline (or whatever its called) but I'm thinking about getting one of those tick puller bars. But anyway my qestion is.... has anyone got a tick on themsevles? or had or know someone who has got lymes disease? thats what i'm thinking about when sticking my hand in a hole, thinking that it might come back out with a tick buried in it. Would it happen? can it Happen? has it happend?

to become a gamekeeper

Hello All Do you need a certificate or a qualification to become a gamekeeper ? -
keeps for ages (months) as long as you get all the moisture so it cant rot and cut any fat off as you can't dry that out.
-
im no expert and have only really started making it but i do it like this....... I cut the meat sidways (if that makes sense to you ) and roll it out whilest im cutting it so it becomes thinner and then cut it in to strips. I then put it in a bowl with some sea salt to draw out the moisture and leave it for an hour or two. I then add a little garlic powder and paprika then rub ( and maybe another little bit of salt depending) i then mix, rub and turn it all over in the bowl with my hand. Then I put it on a rack in the oven on temperature 70 dergrees celsius and then wait for it to dry out

Hi to everyone I havent been ferreting as long as some people so i dont know everything. But when I am out i use purse nets and i rencently brought a long net (a tradiontional one i think! It just one single net) So anyway to my point, Can someone put up some info and pics of the different kind of nets i.e purse nets, poke nets, stop nets, long net etc, etc ( saw someone asking about sliders on another post). So for people like me i have a better understanding what some people are chatting about and have a better knowledge. Any help would be great cheers guys

I do have one off those folding spades but when i was digging in stoney/rocky soil it just started to bend, i have a full size spade which is it a lot better but i will still take the fold up one cos it does come in handy. can someone show me what a ''bar'' is please. I have in mind what i think it is but not too sure. secatears is a good idea they would defo come in handy in some places i go too.

OK so plain and simple question, what i carry with me when i go out with me two ferrets is: knife 9 purse nets ( i know i need more...) locator + 2 collars Spade water gloves so thats about it, I have recently brought a long net but havent been out with it yet. But what does everyone else take with them? I would like to know to give me better ideas and things that could help in the future for e.g I was out with me mate and we had to dig down to the ferret but after a couple of feet the soil got really hard and stoney and all we had was a spade and progress pretty much
