Yeah there was a couple of russels there that were very experienced ratters. Once they caught she would go in for a rag. I'm being to hard on the dog. First time out with other dogs, smoker blasting away and rats running about it had never seen before. A bit much for a pup to take in the more I think about it.

Border terrier mate. it is still quite immature tho but had to get it out to see what it's all about. I just had it in my head that it would have went a bit different. I'm as new to ratting as she is.

I do believe that the terrier likes to know that his hard work has been payed off when you pull the fox that he's working it's killed and he gets to rag it knowing the end result. Just my opinion mate, and just to state I'm not dissing anyone on here for letting them go. I agree with letting some go and not wiping places out and digging for the sport not the kill.

well before it was bedlington terrier crosses that were quite popular in a dogs make up, now im hearing alot of wheaton terriers in along with bull. just wondering why they add the wheaton along with the bull? im just wondering are people favoring wheatons over bedlingtons and for what reason?

how do youse get it out the den once yous have dug down or out of the net without it having a go at you scruff it back of the neck they go like a limp cock when ye got them right, me thinks ye aint handled to much quarry fella il put my hads up and say i have never handled a live fox or even attempted to and dont plan on! i think my dog would b pretty pissed if i pulled out a fox he had been working underground for whatever time then let it run off!

Is there any innoculations that can prevent weils disease or anything I can do to prevent my dogs catching anything while ratting?

I'm not clued up at all about the bull Wheaton crosses so if anyone could shed some light for me. Is a bull grey cross for efficient than a Wheaton Grey? Why do they add bull and Wheaton together and is the wheaton a replacement for the beddlington, if so what's the difference in the 2 breeds. Sorry for all the questions at once.
