  1. had some rope lying about (super thick paracord) and some regular paracord. had a go at knocking up a sliplead. heres what i came up with:
  2. Stop being a fanny BPR and get ya troosers dirty If they dont get dirty i can wear them again. Can push 2 weeks out of a pair
  3. no reply from the council i was mistaken, the ground i was intending to use the lure on actually belongs to a local school although it isnt in the school grounds if you get me so i have messaged the school and they replied saying they will pass it up further and get back to me. doubt it will get anywhere. still looking. just gained some new permission but the farmer isnt keen on the lure as its an ariable farm (is that the right word? no livestock, just crops) and he needs the ground untouched over the summer. i personally dont mind going to a football field. if we get moved on
  4. went the fishing shop before and had a look at the ledgers/ lead weights they had there. decided NOT to get the round ones with the holes in. risky if the dog gets a hold of it and it comes loose got a couple of ledgers 1lb and 2lb ones. stuck them on the lure. does add some weight like. taped it up so it might work. will need to make a couple with different weights on and try it out to see which ones best.
  5. what you talking about. heard you was auditioning for an episode of geordie shore with that fcukd up accent
  6. Only ordered them today mate. They will be here tomorrow. You cant beat proper boots for the field, altberg, lowa, meindl etc but i like the easiness of wellies and the fact your trousers are clean and dry too
  7. the teddies bounce too much mate. the gundog dummy was good when we first tried it, but wont be any good for the turns, it will knock them over. this is what we used succesfully for months in the summer. its made out of barrier tape and a bottle top. works great if only i can make it a little heavier to drag a bit more. Do the dogs chase that time and time again?..... Ofcourse they chase it. They chase anything that moves! Its exciting to them, played about with them since they where 7 weeks old. Different things. Rabbits skins, rags, sandbags, teddies. If it moves across the grou

  11. Lol could see it now " sick poachers cut off foxes tail and encourage selica greyhounds to savage it " . .. very good point mind most of this is done in the publics eye in one way. dont want to bring unwanted attention

  14. gundog dummy is ok but would knock the turns out a soft toy bounces too much and im sure a pillow case would absorb water?
  15. set a live trap between the 2 sheds, along the path the squirrels use to get to next doors manky bins, baited up with penaut butter. first day the traps 'sprung' but nothing in it....hmmm went out this morning and the traps sprung again....nothing in it had a closer look and there was scratch marks in the bait and peanut butter on the bars of the cage. seems the sneeky b@stards have been scratching the peanut butter from the outside and putting their paws through the bars
  16. went out with the lure yesterday for half an hour on a football field out the way of houses etc. the ground was boggy and in minutes the place was a quagmire. i was just testing the lure out really. it ran perfect BUT im struggling with a 'lure'. last time i had made some out of barrier tape and they were working fine but the line doesnt seem tight enough as the lure is light. i put a couple of bolts on the end of the line to add a bit of weight. the line snapped a couple fo time so im assuming it was too heavy. any ideas for a lure? ive got old camo trousers cut up etc but they absorb the
  17. Dont get me involved FFS.

Its perfect for me right now. Just had a knee op an works like a walking stick maybe get it shortened in the future.
  20. My whippet yaps. Its always once, one the first turn and then shes mostly silent. Doesnt bother me or bother people ive been out with. Msube she yaps because she was started on the lure? She broke both her back legs so had a lot of time out when she was under 8months and then small runs on safe ground on the lure. I know a few people who have had dogs that yap and say it was no problem whatsoever. They aint all perfect. Mines just super keen. Got a lurcher pup here almost 9 months old. Silent as a whistle on the lamp.
