intresting topic everybody will have opinion for me as a good allrounder thats a dog that will do daytime hares work with ferrets and lamp the few dogs i have had over the years that have done this have been lurcher x lurcher they are far n few between good allrounders but certain lines of lurchers consistentely produce good dogs speed is not everything in a lurcher too much can be a handicap we have seen em fly to hare and fly straigt past if it was all about speed we would all have greyhounds

the chips can migrate around the dog they can get into joints also some dogs have reaction to them its all well documented last year all racing greyhounds had to be chipped it cost £3 a dog but they have had problems with chips moving all over the dogs

chilly you can somtimes get problems with feeding processed compleat food as they are made with by products chicken fat is added for protine more fat higer the protine so im not a big fan of this way of feeding most of the time your dogs will be ok on complet if it works thats ok but have found the best way for me is a diet of raw beef veg and brown bread on this i never get dogs with runs they dont crap mountains of sloppy smelly stuff are you giving milk if so allways give half milk half water as milk on its own can give dog runs good luck with him

dogs a credit to you looks a picture of health

tote was not saying how to stop dogs i was using this as example that they do work
-
I wouldn't try to stop a greyhound by using a mag box. I have heard it said that it stops dogs but every dog is different, a mate of mine had a bitch that was only middle grade and if he left her in the box before a race as you would to try and stop one she found lengths. There are more surer ways of stopping greyhounds.
-
i dont think there is any sientific proof that they work but i can tell you that greyhound men put dogs in them before race to slow em down so its doing somthing
-
hello mate welcome
-
it can get confusing keep it simple this works for me beef raw if its too lean i add fat to it any veg apple tomato pasta for the bulk brown bread vitamin E brewers yeast iorncell blood tonic but dont feed blood tonic same time as vitmin E every 2 weeks give 2ml b12 iorncell and the b12 will keep your dogs red blood cells at the right level which helps keep energy levels to the maximum

SILKEY replied to dig09's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Lads if you read my previous post its the cause of the bleeding tail you have to deal with if you do this it will clear up if hes whacking it on side of kennell and you cant move him to bigger one put carpet at side so his tail hits this insted of wall -
how can i stop the tip of my lurchers tail bleeding
SILKEY replied to dig09's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
hI you can put a hair curler over the end you would need to tape it on. when the dog is in his kennel or pen they stand facing the door if your door is to one side ie not in the middle then you will never stop it as he will keep hitting side of his pen with his tail has to be able to wag his tail without hiting the wall with it when hes stood at the kennell door
