Do you really believe that Bird? Organised official coursing events like the waterloo are consigned to history but everything else is business as usual from what I've seen. It's hard to say wilf, it's such a special case. Not many mangers stay at a club for 23 years. A lot of water under the bridge to forget. I could imagine the arsenal fans forgetting quick if wenger left and they got a successful man in but not fergie but who knows.

That could have been the case or maybe the top managers didn't want the job for fear of failure, not living upto fergie. Lets face it, he was the best, I can't see if anyone took over and did well that would have changed. But imagine if you were morinhio, took over, you'd be constantly getting compared to fergie no matter if you were winning or losing. If anything, winning the league last season has made moyes job harder or anyone else who was going to take over. It shows how much respect fergie had to get what's basically the same mediocre players to rise and play way above themselves to win

When fergie was there all the teams knew if you finish above Man U in the league, you've pretty much won it. Now and for the foreseeable future under moyes, Man U will be forgetting Chelsea and man city, they'll be fighting it out with arsenal and Liverpool for 3rd and 4th place. I think if Man U finish in 4th next season or any other under moyes it will be regarded as a good season. He'll get a fair chance next season due to fatigue with the World Cup and the big boys having midweek games in Europe but I still reckon he'll only muster 4th at best.
