    Stu AFAIA There has been little or no change at Barons Down. I believe that the warden has intervened with the very worst Btb ridden deer and has shot them but I believe the number culled is a insignificant amount.TBH its been some time since I bothered to make enquiries. Being thoroughly hacked off with the situation as it was. Someone needs to look into it then do you not think? Do you know any stalkers who stalk close by or land owners who this is effecting?

    Stu As we both know once the name calling starts the argument is won. Doesn't take long does it. A few insightfull posts, a well presented and justifiable POV, and a large helping of fact. I wish all debates and discussion I have to get involved in were so easily won. I'd be able to spend even more of my time having fun if they were. Oh I am just sat here shaking my head its painfull . H can you not find something more to do I have got an excuse because I havent got any work in but at this time of year surely you should be run of your feet.

    But I have just made myself a knife out of mirror scraper steel with a black buffalo handle and although I am producing a decent blade , my leatherwork skills are somewhat shall I say not very good or practically non existant. The other thing is my arse makes a funny sound when i walk its rather tight. Is the anyone out there who is prepared to make me a decent sheath if I give a piccy of the knife and sizes at a cheap rate or I could even provide a gratis stalk in payment for your much needed skills.     In part to your question Dan a further question arises Are these deer wild ? or captivated? Not sure Dan but I do know that if there is evidence or suspected evidence of T.B being present in wild deer then the state Vet has to be informed before any carcass is put into the food chain. Irrespective of there being TB present in the herd, further animals such as badgers,foxes,hares , rabbits or hedgehogs, or any other mammals transient to the area are more than likely to spread the disease to other animals such as cattle etc. I would have thought it prudent that the herd be destroyed to preve

    Stu, As always a well thought out and reasonable reply but I have to take you up on a couple of things? What is classed as "cruel" or "suffering"?............I only ask because in lots of stalking accounts (yours included) it plainly states that a shot beast has run on for sometimes 100yds plus before dieing........would that not be classed as suffering or cruel seeing as it was not instant? As for poachers using guns and bows, well stalkers use guns and bow hunting is widesparead in the united states.......so who is the judge of the poacher or the bow hunters skill with rifle or bow?

    What I cant get my head round H and am sure you will agree. After viewing that video and further investigation that went on into the LACS cruelty, where has the investigation got to. there havent been any further updates on the matter , Have they reduced the numbers of the herd or had them put down totally or are they still suffering or what? I know like me you hate to see such cruelty going on and even more so coming from an organisation that proclaims to the world its only concern is the well being of wild animals, so why hasnt something been done about it, ?     Hi Martin I had a quick browse of it last night before I nodded off its a good little book , not purposefully an educating publication but a collection of personal stalking experiences by different individuals so it gives an unblinkered view ,It is well put together and a very pleasant read, no doubt i will carry on reading it this evening and finish it as its not excessive in pages but is well worth purchasing for those who enjoy reading other sportsmens experiences. Well done to Jonathan for collating it and publishing it Regards Stuart

    As I stated in my original post H i am most grateful genuinely that Jonathan should make such a kind gift available . and I look forward to some bedtime reading I wasnt aware that tapeworms are Hermaphrodites as I must admit I havent come across them before although I have seen the effects of the deviance found in roe deer, I always thought the hermaphrodites shared both sexual organs but could not reproduce.     Today through the post I have just received a complementary publication soft back from J.Darcy entitled A Passion for Stalking, I would just like to say thank you very much. I havent had time as yet to read and digest the contents ,but first impressions having flicked through quickly appear to be well put together , and the photographic content is of the first order. Not withstanding the cost of the edition which isnt printed on the copy that was sent to me by J Darcy It appears to be well put together embossed in gold leaf as well.     Unfortunately your correct there are those who live outside the law and cause suffering either intentional or unintentional it matters not in my book, whether its someone with a rifle ,a bow, a spear ,a lassoo any person who involves himself in bringing about any animals demise has a responsibility as a human being to do it as quickly and as humanely as possible. Sometimes things go wrong in the discipline that I am involved in and I do question myself at these times have I done enough to prevent suffering sometimes it comes close and its on my conscience for quite a considerable perio

    Correction only a stupid cruel uneducated cnut of disputed parentage who has no consideration or concern for his quarry and needs to be brought to account for his her.their actions, I think I did say words to that effect in a more polite way in my initial reply to the OP. though. Stu Why do you have to write a full paragraph all the time..? A c**t covered it quite nicely!!!....:-) I dont know I just get wound up at times and sometimes i suffer from verbal diarrhea and its maybe i dont like talking about things you cant eat and smells of piss with hair round it, (Furry cup) it
