  1. I've got no doubt they'll prosecute them. By the very fact it was in TV and folk who don't give a flying f**k about hare coursing - and probably still don't - will have seen it and the police will view that as a high profile enough reason to take it on. Manna from heaven for plod!! It was a good programme and I thought if anything the guys were a wee bit gullible in allowing themselves to be filmed. I do wonder if the BBC will find themselves in the shit too though - they filmed it!!! And the farmer - has he colluded in the illegal act????
  2. Hey mate nice bitch - how's she bred? What is her sire? dave,3/4 dorder collie 1/4 greyhound to martha pure greyhound. What's she doing? Was she easy to train? Is she doing anything/picked anything up yet? She looks really nice.
  3. What food were they feeding? I've have had 3 puppies from Hancock now. And am going back for another next month. Mine's all been fine - no shits, no blood, no trips to the vet, no nothing. All good. When I picked up my Kubla puppy in December Hancock was feeding a complete feed from TPMS Animal Feeds - 25% protein, 10% oil, 3.5% fibre and 8% ash with Vit A, Vit D3, Vit E and copper. I bought a 15kg sack from him and introduced my own preference (plus raw/bones) over the space of 6-8 weeks. My pup is now 7 months, is 25 1/2 inches to the shoulder and weighs approx 56lbs so he did really
  4. Hey mate nice bitch - how's she bred? What is her sire?
  5. Good luck finding a suitable name - keep us posted with progress reports and some pics mate eh? All the best.
  6. Can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to buy a puppy that was a third of the size of it's litter mates? That one's beyond me I'm afraid. I think someone made a rod for their own back here? If the puppy did have the worst worm burden ever seen surely it would have been visibly evident at the point of purchase? It's not clever to purchase a puppy which was - by your own admission - 66% smaller than its siblings? Just makes no sense to me whatsoever!!!!
  7. One thing's guaranteed - if you throw it in - which I know you won't - it'll be shit scared for the rest of it's life. Encourage it to follow an older dog into the water. You'll have to get wet yourself too. My old Border terrier was - and probably still would be if given half a chance - fanatical about water and would spend hours and hours in and out of rivers. Patience and time!
  8. Hey bud - just ignore it. If he didn't want to "get into the whole Hancock debate" he wouldn't have posted that shit!!! Enjoy your puppy and all the best.
  9. Got pics of my old 3/4 will need to get my wife to scan them in as they're not digital. I'll PM you them. Mite take a day or two tho!!!
  10. Yeah - I bet you can't wait to get her home. You'll really enjoy her I'm sure. Here's some pics of Dan my Kubla puppy. He's 7 months old and I'm delighted with him. He's great with my son who's 13 and loving every minute of having a lurcher puppy. Good luck.
  11. Hey mate that's great. How's your puppy bred? What's the sire? I have had three lurchers from Hancock now - I had a Taffy 3/4 bred and a Richard Jones half bred in the 's. I have a 7 month old Kubla puppy at the minute. He's doing great things. And I'm heading back south next month to pick up a first cross pup too. Good luck.
  12. Hi Mate - best dog I've ever had is the blue merle 3/4 bred in my avatar. He did the lot. Got him from Hancock in 1986. You won't go far wrong with a 3/4 collie greyhound. Good Luck.
  13. Well there you have it the whole evolution of and hard-wired hunting instinct of one species re-routed thanks to a bag of dry ferret food and boiled rabbit. Utter crock of shit!!! Can't believe you actually wrote that.
  14. I read the article in CMW also and I'm not convinced the gains are enough to make me want to feed creatine? I do feed cold liver oil. But to be honest I think a good, interesting and balanced diet, good clean water, stimulation and tons of exercise plus adequate rest is more than enough to produce good lurchers and running dogs.
  15. Hi mate - It's info on stock from Hancock's Alex I'm after! Nice useful looking dog tho. Thanks.
  16. Hi there - looking for feedback/info on stock from Hancock's Alex. Anyone working/worked his stock? I'd like info on character, temperament and working ability, height tts and any other useful feedback. I've had 3 from Hancock in the past, a Taffy 3/4, Richard Jones 1/2 and I have a 7 month old pup by Kubla at the minute. Feel free to PM me and it'd be brilliant if I could see some pics. Thanks Borderscot.
  17. Come to think of it - I reckon I posted this topic last week? Some good answers too?
  18. I've always gelled better with dogs! Been married three times too! Maybe there's a link here?
  19. Where will I get all I need for netmaking - needles, hemp, nylon, rings and cord etc? Which company has the best range of quality materials? Thank you!
  20. Around 20 years ago I had a greyhound bitch thst I got from a guy who used to race flapping dogs. I took this bitch with a view to breeding a litter of 3/4 bred collie greyhound puppies with my Richard Jones half bred. I decided that - more out of interest than anything else - too see if the bitch would 'switch codes' and take an interest in anything furry. She picked up a few rabbits and was passable on hares (lack of stamina) but she was a total nailer with foxes once taking 3 within an hour on the same night. However, she also killed a terrier, chased sheep and cattle and thought ferrets we
  21. It proves nothing at all. Just because someone takes a pic of a dog and a fox it certainly doesn't prove the dog had a hand in the demise of the fox. Far from it. I have heard it mentioned that one well known now deceased hunter and author photographed his lurcher with fox carcases from the freezer to illustrate one of his books and that his lurcher did not kill the majority of the foxes photographed in the book. Whether that's the case or not I don't know. Personally if it is true I am disappointed because I was a fan!!!!
  22. what? Don't think he wants an 'instant' good terrier does he? The guy wants a pup!!!!!
  23. He'll have shifted the lot before tea time after this eh?????
  24. Only bleached for human consumption. I feed tripe. The protein content isn't that great but it's cheap and easy to get. Would need to be fed in addition to a quality mixer. Years ago I used to feed tripe and sheeps heads. The dogs did really well on it - they'll eat the whole sheep's head apart from the lower jaw and teeth. Had to watch the bone intake though as their stools could become really hard. Puppies used to love split open sheep's heads.
  25. Never ownded a Saluki, never had the inclination to own a Saluki and never will. But you've got to admit it - even if they're not your cup of tea - this dog is brilliant and is seriously good at what he does. Impressive stuff. He makes it look totally effortless. Could watch this dog all day long!!!!!!!!!
