I didn,t think I,d ever defend Fergie , but the united supporters don,t know what he knows , he see,s players every day in training , he listens to physios , he knows how many good games Giggs has got left this season , in short his decisions are made from a posistion of knowledge , that the supporters don,t have .

I was at the match , last match I attended , apart from the friendly with Celtic just after , at this time of year I can,t help but think of the victims of Bolton , Bradford , Munich , Ibrox , Heysel and any other time a simple thing like following or playing football cost someone thier life.

In an ideal world yes......in the real world kids misbehave sometimes,i accept that.....what i dont accept is when it go,s unpunished because a teachers hands are tied. Thats the problem , there are no consequences.

Rightly or wrongly the days of corpral punishment or putting the fear of god into kids has gone , even expulsion isn,t an option ( a school loses 6 grand funding for every kid it expels ) so with these handicaps plus reaching unrealistic results , the only way a teacher can keep good order and actually teach the kids something is by keeping them interested and gaining thier respect . There are a lot of dedicated people for whom teaching is a vocation , the government keep putting obstacles in the way in the name of pc and things will change.

My daughter is a teacher , works late into the night most nights ,and invests a hell of a lot of her free time , energy and emotion into the well being of her students , she is fighting a constant battle with financial constraints and apathetic and sometimes obstructive parents . It,s taking the easy way out blaming teachers , and by the way she,s small and petite but has no problems with classroom disciplin , maybe because she,s interested in them .
