  1. Hi all went and got my first lurcher pup today she's a collie grey , sorry pics are crap I'm really landed with her , think she may need a little feeding up tho , think she is just slightly on the slim side , she is 10 weeks old , going to slowly change her over to complete puppy food as she is on adult at the mo , any suggestions for any thing I can supplement the complete food with to help her put a little weight on ?
  2. To be honest the size doesn't worry me 2 much already have a large air dale bitch she about 26tts , but where we walk most days the are plenty of rabbits and the dog would be able to mouch and hunt up quite a lot , just prob only be once maybe twice a week full day ferreting , but hoping to start on the lamp when the pup is big enough , prob get out a lot more then as my family are all in bed early and I'm always out with the dog in the night now Do you think that would be enough for a collie x ?, really do like the collie x's , it's the intelligence and obedience level that can be achiev

  4. Hi all just wondering what your thoughts are on this x , do they have the speed to make good rabbit dogs in most situations , any opinions appreciated thanks If any one has some pics of this x would be great
  5. Think your inbox is full mate

  6. Horses for courses ay mate , I think I could make much more use out of a fast agile dog that will take small edible game
  7. Think your right mate , I'm going to go for summit good and racy, summit sharp for boulters day time mouching and working the lamp for bunnies , I'd rather have a dog that's going to perform in these areas than one that will do ok but take the od smelly
  8. Supersam , how much of each sal whip grey is in your dog mate ? There a litter near me of saluki/whip/grey not sure how they are bred yet but if they going to be anything like yours I'd be happy to have one Is it usual of a dog of this breeding to take fox or is it just in him ?
  9. To be honest temperament has been vary much on my mind also, as I would like the dog to be a part of the family as well as a working dog , and for that reason I am not really wanting any thing with much if any bull in it at all , my childrens safety is paramount
  10. Think you might be a little out of my way mate but thanks All the same
  11. I understand and appreciate what you are saying , have done a lot of reading and planing kennel is neally finished out the garden. I will admit tho have seen vary few dogs working , but looking for mainly a rabbit dog , in ideally I'd like a 1/4 collie grey but I now there are plenty of other dogs that will suet my needs and that's y i thought there no need to limit my self to the one kind of x's
  12. Not really sure what I'm looking for to be honest it's gona be my first lurcher, i don't plan on having more than one so would like a bit of an all rounder , but mainly rabbits ferreting and mooching day time , and hoping do some lamp work 2, I would like summit that would take the old smelly on the od occasion but I suppose that's not essential really , deff want a bitch and as young as possible really as I have small kids and would feel better if I had a pup that has grown up with them Been looking at collie/greys And saluki/greys. But No hard and fast really just don't want a big
  13. Hi just wondering if there any litters out there on the way , or born and waiting to be sold ? Within driving distance of south wales Any help much appreciated
  14. That is a good shout mate , will have to ask around Don't want to upset any one but I was under the impresions that suluki gray would not put up with the sharp end ? And that they don't listen well ? I must admit the sal/bull/grays I've seen on here do look the bissnes and seem to get good reports Collie/gray x bull/gray sound like a good
  15. Ideally I am looking for a 1/4collie gray bitch as this seems to be a popular choice as an "all rounder" but I'm sure there are plenty of other x's that will do the job So I thought I could maybe widen my search and look for other x's instead of just collie x But I would like to now what other crosses I should look out for that will meet my need also, I want a dog for ferreting, day time mooching, and lamping rabbits, and can also take the sharp end
