  2. cheers hilly, pm replied to today mate
  3. i'm out twice a week and have had 720 rabbits since october 1st. not long before we finish now though as we're digging up the odd kits and want some sport for next season. out in morning to add to the tally hopefully. atb
  4. he has'nt repied to me yet and he's been online at teatime.....
  5. heyup steve, tried to pm you but i think your inbox is full. hope you get well soon, jason also sends his regards mate. i've got plenty on myself but if your mates need a hand drop me pm. atb
  6. hi shootlodge, 90% of my hunting is ferreting and shooting rabbits with a silenced rimfire. if you want them thinning out i can give you 4 days/nights a week, i've got my own transport and i'm based in hull. pm me if you need. atb
  7. are you in east yorkshire mate?
  8. i sell around 60 rabbits a week, gutted, skinned to a couple of butchers £1.50 each. they sell at £2.50. ferreted or rimfired only. any damaged rabbits get diced up, that sells at £1.50 a pound, hearts, lungs, livers, kidneys and carcases from dicing get minced up for dog food in exchange for bacca and grain for a mates chickens lol. only the pelts and heads get binned.
  9. Don't you support them? On 99.9% of their policies and ideas no. The only thing I share with them is a view on deer coursing and the all round benefit of its ban. Hardly what I would regards as support in its widest sense. support. can you enlighten us all to your first hand experience of deer coursing without sidestepping the question please. no need for your drivel, what you saw with your own eyes as its how i tend to form my beliefs.
  10. One is the result of a mistake, error, miscalculation etc. That every conciousness ethical stalker does everything in his power to eliminate Regrettable but inevitable if you do enough these things occasionally happen. Where as the other is a deliberate, pre-calculated, intentional act that repeats itself every time the act is committed. That is also a fact not an opinion. When going out to put a deer on the ground it is intentional, the fact whether cruelty is involve is irrelevent. The goal is the prize. When shooting only a head shot, which is frowned upon, is going to be humane. Sho
  11. just my opinion, i find it incredible that a deer had 4 airrifle pellets in its body, i think the airgunner would have to be within 30yds to penetrate the hide with a legal limit gun making this the most dopey deer i've heard of to be able to allow a hunter to get so close to be shot on numerous occasions? must of been king of the stalkers lol. a bit of jackanory me thinks but it soups up a "shot a poor conditioned beast story" i suppose. i myself am a shooter, i also used to hunt roe deer with lurchers, i know which i would rather be doing if it was still legal. at the end of the day, i feel
  12. try to guarantee a run on your quarry when you slip the dog. the dog needs to see what its supposed to chase so he builds a working relationship with you. if it is'nt getting a chase every time it'l just bugger off and find its own sport. end of run, lamp off until he's back. i would'nt run near livestock until its got the return sorted out. atb
  13. a well presented honest way to sell pups/pup. tells you most of what you need to know with pics included. this guy would have no trouble selling a full litter, never mind a single pup. all those moaning at FTB should take note . best of luck selling the pup though i dont think you'll need it!
  14. heyup oznblue, looking at the makeup of the pups you've got they havent got as much bull in them for my personal tastes, horses for courses and all that, but i will say it was a good offer you made me so thanks. sounds like you had a good do last night, always like to see a 'mixed' bag. i know yours was an accidental litter, i do think FTB does do a good job but i think the thread attracted people with no substance to the argument, hence the name calling but such is life lol. hope you have a good season.
  15. nice honest reply timjim, i had a collie/grey and a bull/grey/whip many moons ago and know how useful they can be. looks like you got a few good seasons left in your dogs and hope they turn out well for you. your mate's dog sounds well, hope he's happy with it, i'm looking for either quarter or three eighths bull myself, as i'm not into earthwork, a half cross is a bit much for what i do and the land i run.
  16. well done well done, now you know how to start peddling............
  17. thanks for the reply brian, no answer to my question in there but you cant win em all i guess. i used to run my own business in a partnership. used to get 4 days off a month for 12 years but decided to sell my share and no longer need to work. i'm secure for life, i'm sure your pleased for me. house, td5, boat all paid for, i go shooting, freshwater fishing, seafishing, ferreting and back into lurcherwork when i find the right stuff. there's no crime to owning just 1 dog if you only have the commitment and time for one, its how you get them to the peak of fitness brian. happy i made you laugh
  18. timjim, you answer the question i gave brian, or are you shouting from the back as well.............
  19. thats a really good offer oznblue, i'm sure your black dog is running well but the bitch is untested yet and i'm a bit picky in all fairness. like i said earlier, i'm a 1 dog man and have to remove little doubts as best i can so the pup will get 100% off me. thats just how i am and its stood me in good stead while i watched lads i know over the years go through dogs like they're going out of fashion. how are they bred the parents, just out of interest? i'm looking for something with bull in it.
  20. where did you go brian? i left you reading this topic while i logged out to watch tightlines on sky. that was an hour ago and have come back on expecting some secret pearls of wisdom but found a bit fat nothing?! its no good shouting from the back if you cant back your words up lol. i'l make the question clearer for you. what can i expect from a pup not of good lines, untested or unworked parent/parents, accidental matings, that i cant get from good bloodlines, worker to worker? dont say the price as they usually arent any cheaper and dont blame the recession etc. educate me brian, oznblue's s
  21. sorry to disappoint you but i'm a 1 dog man, always had runners that can do the lot. sadly i'm in between dogs at the moment, not embarassed to say it either, the best ones come to those that choose carefully, it saves the disappointment. is there anything about your litter that can make me interested? sensible answers only though What a surprise, you really are a keyboard hunter i'm probably out more than you lol. i take a lad on my land to give his dogs a workout, i also shoot plenty with my rimfire. then i'm also fishing 3 days a week, its a hard life lol. now answer my question to y
