  1. Go to winchester sight then go to Winchester Balistics calculator you can compare all different types and calibers. It is not shown on a graph but on a target and a report on all the bullets vitals.
  2. Jamming is normally caused by people oiling the semi auto bolt action. It needs to be completely free of oil as the unburnt powder will stick to the oiled parts. Semi autos are more dirty than a bolt action as everything goes up the barrel on a bolt action. Also your will find that your gun will like a certain ammo. If i use winchester subs i have nothing but problems but if i use a cooper coated bullet like CCi no trouble at all. My ruger has been fed plenty of CCi stinger and CCi subs no complaints from there performance. Get your gun from a dealer that knows his guns e.g. Wilson & Wilso
  3. Got a Ruger 10/22 semi auto love it had it over 20 years been feed CCi stinger, CCi subs & CCi mini mag. Just check it doesn't have a carbon fibre barrel as you can't use high velocity through them. As for accuracy not had a problem. They are slightly noiser. As for wasting lead that is down to the user.
  4. It is down to personal preference. But a bolt action will be slightly quiter as you will not have the bolt moving like semi auto . On the other hand you can take more shots quicker without taking your eye off the target. Like there are 2 rabbits next to each other take one out then the other. You normally have to train yourself not to empty the magazine at one rabbit. The only thing is the type of ammo you use. If fed Winchester Super X they jam every now and again and are very dirty, if fed CCi goes like a dream no issues. I have a Ruger 10/22 semi auto it is absolutely brilliant and it is ov
  5. You can adjust the trigger on the T bolt mine was heavy adjusted it my groupings got nice and tight i went from just over an 30mm grouping to a 10mm group at 100 yards.
  6. Easy pickings They are to busy chasing the vixens to worry about you. Got it here in canterbury. Even better when they are mating take the vixen out get the dog also because she normaly hangs on for a while after shot
  7. Canterbury but shoot in Chilham, Chartham, Challock, Hoath & Sturry area
  8. Got a browning T bolt nice little rifle very light though. My Wildcat predator 12 is heavier than the T bolt. Had a saks mod on it just changed it for a wildcat whisper which has made it more balanced. Got mine from Greenfields in Canterbury. Would have used Wilson & Wilson but they couldn't get any when i got mine. Have a look around at shops that don't normally specialise in rifles becase they can have them sitting about and sometimes for less money. Love shooting it but does make a nice little mess of Bugs Bunny :D Only advise if night shooting don't get a light that out ranges your r
  9. You can shot a dog if it is worrying your livestock but have to shout at the owner 3 times to get the dog under control. If this does not happen then you are within your rights to shoot it. Police only know criminal law not civil law Also this is why your dog should be on a lead on a footpath so it does not go and disturb the wild life. 1) The Dogs (Protection of Livestock) Act, 1953. This legislation provides for the punishment of persons whose dogs worry livestock on agricultural land and for connected purposes. Offences can be charged against owners of dogs or persons in charge of
  10. I had imported a burris eliminator from the states and asked for it to be marked as a warranty replacement. But i still got stung for the import duty. The only thing i will say is if it is lost and you have marked it as a £58.00 gift you will only get £58.00 not the true value of the scope say £580.00. So could you afford to loose £528.00 ?? The custom people are not stupid. On my scope i paid £500.00 pounds including postage but had to pay £139.00 duty. Still made it a cheap scope as i have only seen one company offering that scope and it was well over £1000.00 in the uk. Hope this helps with
  11. Got a .243 WSSM Winchester model 70 Stealth II with heavy barrel synthetic stock. It has wildcat predator 12 moderator and a Bushnell elite but now just changed for a Burris eliminator scope. Nice but a heavy gun all works well shoots great. If you sight up on your target its dead hardly ever miss never get a runner. Makes plenty of mess on foxes
  12. Have a 243 wssm fitted with a wildcat predator 12 looks nice and is quite as well. I was drawn to this one as it is fully stripable and you can change parts and many different combination of blast tube length.
  13. This is the way of the country / field sports :victory: . Shooting them is the most humane way of doing it! Thats providing you shoot to kill every time. So letting your dog get hurt from trying to kill the fox is good for your dog? I don't think so! I thought hunting with dogs was banned? Also good shooting on getting those little buggers! I have a date with a few foxes
  14. Ask him to put warranty replacement so might get away with it
  15. Ok i will let you know as i have ordered a scope from america. Normally the import duty on telescopic sights / scope is 4.70% of the total purchase price including shipping then plus vat at our current rate. I will let you know more when it turns up how much extra it has cost.
  16. Got a browning T bolt .17 HMR very nice gun. You can adjust the weight of the trigger pull on a browning but will need a trigger kit on a CZ. I waited a long time for my browning T bolt as they were in short supply and it was well worth it
  17. Got predator 12 on a .243 WSSM it is nice and quite cost me £280. I would consider one of these to a T8 reflex.
  18. What is this on? Had this with a silencer to an air rifle. It would not adjust still the the same area. Took the silencer of all worked ok and sighted in. Hope this helps you
  19. Got one on my .17hmr browning T bolt nice scope very useable. Not bad for the money. Don't seem to use the IR much.
  20. Its all down to personal preference. If you go for a semi auto it will be louder than a bolt action. My .17 hmr Browning T bolts is vastly quiter than my .22Lr semi auto ruger 10/22 had this gun for over 17 years and not given any problems. Just choose wisely and goto a reputable gun dealer ask alot of questions. I have used the same dealer for over 20 years. The gun is only as good as the person using it. Don't get a to bigger scope as it will out range your gun. I have a nikko sterling gold crown 4-12x50 on the .22Lr. As for distance can hit a rabbit at around 150+ yards. As for fox you have
  21. My local gun dealer does not enter a make just the calibre size, make is down as unknown, Serial number is unknown. He said this makes it easier to change the moderator at anytime. THis was for a .17hmr & .22Lr
  22. bit advice really im getting a browning t bolt and wondered what scope you recommend. it will be for rabbiting mainly. cheers in advance for any advice
