  2. tottaly agree with you stabba, evry year there are loads of dogs for sale on sites like this or free ad papers most of them can turn out to be descent dogs in the right hands.i dont understand why people bring up lurchers and terriers till there 12 - 18 months and then sell them just when they are ready to start work
  3. new season is coming, get the spades looked out lads

  7. i would take it,you wont do the dog any harm, infact the experience will do it good,if it becomes a neucence then just put it back in the car
  8. a mate of mine has a border whippet it is not 2 bad on rabbits but not the best,it takes fox along with another dog though
  9. saluki in a lurcher can really help with stamina but i dont think that it is essential as there are many gd hair dags out there without saluki blood
  10. an old greyhound man i know told me about adding garlic to the dogs food but i havnt tried it yet,i was using redmills worker along with minced up meat i was getting from the slaughter house.

  13. well im going to try changing the food and see what happens
  14. I would defo say that the upbringing is most important although having a good breeding in a dog really helps you out, when i was younger i was flat out with my lurchers and can honestly say that i never owned a bad dog,i know of a few young lads that have really good standard of lurchers and it is simply because they are out on the land with them alot more than the average man has time for
  15. hey lads,my terrier rescently kept scratching like mad and some hair was falling out,i was checking him every day for flees etc but he was as clean as could be,my kennels are also kept minted so i couldnt understand what the itching was all about.finally when the vet was down checking some cattle we have i got her to have a look at the dog and she reckons that the food that the dog is on is the cause of the problem although it is the same food i have always fed my terriers on. i was just wondering if anybody else has experienced the same sort of problem in the past?
  16. i dont expect anybody to trust me and go digging straight away, but i will try make a few mates and see what happens,i am defo not an anti, lol.
