i understand now lol.
was just thing it would be good for the ferrets to have a large run.
plus it comes ready made which is a big advantage to me since im terrible at wood work lol.

thats the best description that anyone could ever give about whats it like ferreting beach dunes. you got it exactly right.
its all dunes i ferreted. the places were like swiss cheese with all the holes.
still rather the dunes than hedge rows. cleaner and easier to keep an eye on things.
great post rabbit demon.

Did a bit of searching on the net last night for black ferrets and what I found was e.u. ferrets.
Iv heard about these before but know nothing about them.
Lovely looking animal's. Does anyone keep this type.
Atb j
That looks great. Plenty of room to keep them active.
My main concern is the weather where I'm living. It's very exposed on the coast. I used smaller hutches but rather a bigger one for their own wellbeing.
Atb j
That would be great. But unfortunately I will have to go with the traditional type for the time been.
Going to make one 8ft long 4ft deep and 2ft high. Two tier one.

as title says, im looking for ideas to build a new large ferret hutch.
hope some of ye wouldnt mind putting up a few pics so i can get some ideas.
these will be outdoor hutches and will need to be fairly large,.

i remember years ago when to lads from newcastle was over here and came out for a couple of days digging. my missus put up a huge plate of boiled bacon and cabbage with spuds.
they didnt know what it was lol. they said that they never had.
i found that hard to believe, but they cleaned their plates.

its tough on the ferrets as well. i notice them passing sand for a couple days after. and i always check their eyes as well.
but they are lovely and clean places to work though.
dont have that problem with walkers and recreationalists here.
90% of the rabbiting i do is on beach dunes.

unbelievable the amount of sand you have to shift just for a small hole. and then one tube is on top of another its twice as bad clearing sand the second time
