What type of trap for Jackdaws, Crows & other Corvids??
kurgan replied to Oly's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
to shoot a airifle it must be on private land or in a privately owned building with the permission of the owner, preferably written. It must not cause fear or annoyance to neighbours or passers by, and the pellet must not go beyond the boundaries of the property. Than means back garden shooting is legal, but extreme precautions to contain the pellet and avoid annoyance or fear to neighbours must be taken. Carrying or discharging an air weapon in the street, or in local woods without the owner's permission, could result in up to 5 years imprisonment. hope it helps -
mine had swivels the front one clips on to the under lever and you have to drill the stock at the back for the other it is worth it as it is a bloody heavy gun.dont worry to much about scope creep as the recoil is pretty minor on this gun compaired with other springers ,im trying to get a gas ram for mine but not too sure if they make them .

What type of trap for Jackdaws, Crows & other Corvids??
kurgan replied to Oly's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
i wouldnt shoot them if you live in a built up area , i did out in the back garden within 10 minutes there must have been over a 100 magpies screaming at the house it was that bad i had to take the wife and kids shopping for a few hours till they bugged off that was after i had shoot over twenty of them ,i mean it the whole street came out to see what all the noise was about ,scared the hell out of the wife and kids never seen anything like it -
just got mine fixed great gun just a bit heavey ,if yours has an anti bear trap {the button you press to let the cocking arm swing down}be a bit careful with it make sure you have cocked it fully and watch when you swing the arm back up ,its all held by a cocking shoe a tiny little metal shoe which is prone to break £5 to replace.Apart from that its easy to strip as the spring is under very little pressure it wiil fly out as i found but its easy to replace with out a spring compresser.
