  1. yeah, I too have a infa red heater, it's a reptile one, with a metal guard, 150 watts bulb, and it's on a chain, cost me £22 for the lot!
  2. Racing whippets are smaller, and have a smaller bone structure, and are a lot lighter too than working bred whippets, also another point with racing whippets is crypto/mono dogs which means a lot of them have 1 or no testicals, which is a common factor among them saddly, my own racing bred whippet has no testicals, and after weeks of research on them (after I found out my dog had none) alot of racing lines have this condition, if you do have your heart set on a racing whippet, do ask if the line has mono/crypto dogs, bitches bred from these lines are carriers of the condition t
  3. I'd be the same too Stevo, sod the holiday, get the pup instead :11: tell your lass, Sassie won't be going anywhere, so go and enjoy her holiday still 3 boys left, £150 each, coming on a treat
  4. whippets can live outside, but do feel the cold more than other dogs as they have thinner skin, but with a blanket, heat lamp they will be fine, KC reg whippets (depends what lines they are from too, racing/working/showing) the working KC lines are brill at thier job, my KC reg racing bred whippet is rubbish at hunting , he won't go into bushes/hedges, hates the rain and cold weather, and tip-toes threw mud! my 1/2 whippet 1/2 greyhound bitch is 100% perfect on everything, if your going for a KC whippet I'd advise you to go with a good working line rather than a racing/show line
  5. just read this thread, it's good to know she has a very caring dad all the best! hope she heals quick
  6. don't know how Fezz's pups are doing outside running dog (but by the sounds of it they are fine), but I'm glad you and your wife are happy with him and it's not hard to get too attached, they are gorgeous! good luck to you both with the lead training
  7. yes Frank, dripping is a sort of lard, but I can't for the life of me think what lard comes from, having a mental block, it's too early :11: think it's pig, yes it is! mental block gone make sure though that if your going to use lard that it's PURE lard as lard sold in supermarkets commonly contains added BHT (a banned chemical in some countries), which is used as a preservative, so i'd go to your butchers for it and rendered fat obtained from cows or sheep is known as tallow, so ask for either beef dripping (which I find the best on sandwiches, and if I like it my dogs will
  8. Hi Frank, Pre-digested fats mean that the fat has been partly broken down and so it's easier to digest, and most supermarkets will stock Beef dripping and also various other animal fats in this form, (kinda looks like a cream coloured paste/pate) if you ever cook a roast, the juices from the meat (not all but most) if left to harden will become what I call a dripping, but beef dripping is the best on a sandwich with some salt
  9. couple of pictures of Stevo's pup Sassie, (was Teegan) due to be picked up on the 15th Dec she loves her cuddles
  10. not yet, got 3 boys left still, keeping getting silly people though still asking for a big hairy lurcher type and a fella from Essex wanting one, asked me to post it!!! needless to say I 'politely' told him where to go :11:

you really had it bad then, glad it wasn't that bad here!
  15. really good looking dog, good luck in finding him a new home
  16. I for one will be interested
  17. in buddy's own words: it was to late by the time i got to them don't add up mate sorry
  18. You F*****g puppy peddling messer !!!! . hi there i didint plan on breeding her the second time she was let out by a member of the family by mistake! what can you do, it was to late by the time i got to them. why didn't you get her to the vets for an abortion jab right after you got to them, wouldn't have cost that much quote Fezz: like i said at the start iam not going to bread from her for a while yet , i never said i was Fezz were not having a go at you mate, I know you wouldn't breed her at that age
  19. agree with you, you should only breed to improve what you have IMO, but some will breed no matter how good or bad thier dog is, therefore I'd much rather it be at a later age than just 1, that's why I have mentioned it
  20. ok Thanks for that, but I still think only 1 year old is too young to breed, maybe 18 months is better for smaller breeds.
  21. do terriers mature faster than other dogs then? I would NEVER breed from a dog until at LEAST 2 years old, and I would never breed a dog more than once a year or better still longer than that, let them be pups and mature, and I wouldn't dream of breeding the same bitch every 6 months sorry if this sounds harsh but it's my personnel opinion on this subject.
  22. it got worse here later on then it died down, but the waether forcast predicts more bad weather on it's way by Wednesday, so I'd get it done now Fezz rather than later

    Too obedient.....

there's no 2 pups ever the same, some of mine will rag and play and others will want a fuss and are willing to sit and stare at you until they get a stroke, some dogs just love to please thier owners, especially if they know something nice is going to happen after what is asked of them they do, my pups can all sit (most of them now lie down too) and are 99% house trained (still the odd pee), they get lots of praise if they do what I ask, and they are only 9 weeks old! my bitch, Chance was a very bright pup, always willing to please me, and now at 3 years old is a treasure to own and ST
