So you are telling me that if i take 100 dogs bred from long working lines and 100 dogs from lines of non workers then the success rate at working will be even in both groups? There is your answer.
thank you for all your replys i know what i want im glad you all happy with your dogs im not thats me i dont do big bags i let the dog take its time ready when ready as they say i like a wide variety of quarry but no specialised lurcher to me a lurcher is a pot filler and a pest/vermin controller maybe i do set my standards high but as you say different is interesting
why are too many sub standard lurchers being bred? regardless of what you work your dogs im trying not to be to specific for obvious reasons. people go on about breeding dogs after a few seasons of hard work well why cant we have worked them on all quarry if they dont take all quarry then dont breed even if you only work rabbits. why does the all round lurcher have to be a myth why cant all lurchers be all rounders it doesnt mean you personnally have to work them that way but if someone else buys one at least they know it does the job. ive wasted too much money and been too naive but i wont be
i do like the wheaten cross but no one seems to have them and same with the bedlington too much show dogs being used and the lurchers not what they should be
thats the problem you cant get these dogs because they think your a messer went out last night one hare one rabbit and dog took a bite and pulled away first one its ever seen never mind it doesnt matter im happy just being out with my mate another geniune lurcher man the thing is how do you know if the dog is geniune if you cant get to see them like you say too many people breeding rubbish then bragging it up to make the sale i do like the sound of deer grey x collie grey good dogs awhile ago
just wondering where all the old type lurchers have gone lurchers capable of taking all manner of quarry not knocking any ones preferred breed but bit sick of seeing bullx salukix all the time wheres the good well bred rough coated lurchers of old
