If i'm reading it correctly (probably not) most of this stuff was made to help with space exploration.....not what they found up there and brought back? So i'll ask again is there something up there that we need so much back here that spending millions of pounds/dollars on exploring it? Cheers...

I thought you were against needless wasting of money Hows that John.......Providing jobs for thousands and thousands of people in the building industry? That's how, it's a false economy. If the demand is there so would the jobs be there. We know more about builders over here than we'd like to. Plenty stuff needing built...........no one has the money to build it. Obviously uneconomic stuff, if this stuff paid it's own way there'd be a que lining up to build this stuff. So we dont need better housing, better schools and better hospitals John? But sure what do

Thats cause they've been built by an army of Poles who have taken our money and f****d off back home with it to live the life of Riley. How can you expect folk to buy stuff when there skint because they haven't got a job. Big circle this but if you help the big business by funding them money, in return they can pay better wages and the country runs sweet. It was happening before the recission so i dont understand why it couldn't happen now?... As for hospitals why do people in this country have to do charity work and fund raise so there children that need special care have to be flown all ov

Celtic players........ To be serious then modern medicine and education. I'd like to see all hospitals fitted with the best equipment known to man. When my Mum was in hospital the machine that she needed wasn't available and it took them ages to get it into the hospital to keep her alive. "Costs the hospital 50 grand a day this machine you know?" Or something like that i was told......Took every bit of me to stop myself saying "I couldn't give a flying f**k, now get it here and get it switched on!!!!!!"... I'd also like to see the building industry get a big injection of cash.....ship home

Sorry Lab, but you'll never be able to do that no matter how much cash you throw at it.. The only time that'll ever happen is when people finally give up the pursuit of wealth on a global scale. I can't see it happening any time soon if at all. Greed is very much a part of the human psyche, probably ingrained over a few hundred thousand years of evolution as a method of ensuring survival by ensuring that you and yours never went without food. It could easily have been shifted to wealth with the start of agriculture and the shift away from a hunter gathering way of life when people had a bit mo

There are always causes that are more worthy in terms of short term benefits. Why should Billions go into scientific research when all that money could go towards buying struggling pensioners a hot meal everyday or better equiping hospitals? It's a hard decision to justify but the difference is clear when you look at the long term benfits of such research as well. In the future pensioners will be better off and hospitals more effective because of such aparantly useless science and not inspite of. There's never a 'good' time to fund research with the view you take lab, but there is a bigger pic

I get that i really do. But when the world is on its knees financially and the money could go to other things then theres a problem for me. If we had an unlimited supply of money then yes of course search away till there hearts content. I'm sure it provides thousands of jobs as well....... Tell me when hasn't the world been on it's knees? 60's? 70's? 's? 90's? 00's? Quite happy to support Team GB but theres no way i could support them as much as a Scottish competitor. You might think that wrong but i'm Scottish and dont think of myself as British... But isn't that the great part about the Olympics, we're still Welsh, English, Scottish and NI but we live in GB and for a few weeks we can be a nation. Incidentley I'm Welsh and proud but I'm also British ! Honestly i've enjoyed it......i've shouted for Team GB when they've had a medal shot but i've also shouted for any country that has a WR attempt to break. Most exciting was watching Usain Bolt
