  1. Hi mate, sounds to me like you're worrying over nothing! if they ask you where you will get one from (which they probably wont) just tell them you have tried a couple at clay clubs and are still deciding what the correct choice of bore size and barrel length suits you best and when you have made your mind up (through having more lessons at the club) you will buy second hand from a local gun shop. What they are most concerned about is SAFETY!!!!!! they honestly don't care where you buy or get given one from so long as you are responsible enough to own one. Therefore you need to be able to answe
  2. Hi mate, my advice (take it or leave it) would be not to leave a note, chances are it'll never get to the right person. I would keep cycling by until you find someone there, then i would probably approach them along with your dad/ uncle/ older brother etc, obviously make sure you're dressed smart and talk politely. The reason i say take an adult is because like it or not, the vast majority would think that having a 14yr old kid running round their back garden with a gun at all times of the day and night a bit scary! I assume thats not what you would do but it would be peoples first concern, wh
  3. hi mate, all semi's will jam carts if theyre not kept "super clean". Ive got a webley 810 3 shot synthetic, brill gun wouldnt be without it but does jam if not cleaned regularly. Word of warning.... i didnt realise how much of a pain in the arse they are to clean relative to an over and under. Hope this helps.
  4. He should be let loose in the middle of a field, given a 10sec head start and then have two dogs put on him! GET ON THEN!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. He/You have to be within earshot at all times aswell mate. Quite complex really, best thing to do is ring Your FLO.
  6. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3400470/Trail/searchtext%3EFLASK.htm Get yourself one of these mate. Ive had one for 6 years, a bit battered and bruised now but still keeps hot all day. Ive even dropped mine off the top of a scaffold, just broke the plastic. Well worth the money!
  7. Wouldnt be without mine mate, take you anywhere. Awsome bit of kit!
  8. wrong !!! How is it wrong? Ive been pigeon shooting for years and this time of year (between now and christmas) is probably the worst time to decoy as the pigeons: 1. Arent quite flocked up yet 2. Two many young birds about 3. Still feeding on last of the berrys, acorns etc (so not having to feed on the rape yet) 4. All winter drillings have now germinated so no seed on top 5. No frosts so not hard up on what to eat 6. Stubble fields gone Berrys, acorns, clover, hedgerows, no frost, no stubble = NO DECOYING Tell me where im wrong?!
  9. Wrong time of year for decoying mate so dont expect much, theyre still on berries and hedgerows.
  10. countrymans weekly this week has a full article on em!
  11. yes TOY! By that i mean something to enjoy, look after, and have fun with.
  12. Hi mate you say "on the recall" by that i assume you mean whistle? If i were you i would forget the whistle until you've got the obedience spot on just with voice commands. I would start the dog quartering in front at no more than 15yds MAX and use a 15yd check lead to keep control. Obedience is key, stop, stay, sit, come back. Shouldn't matter what's going on around the dog i.e rabbits bolting, pheasants flushing etc the dog should be completely concentrating on your commands, only after that would i introduce a whistle. Your dog is only 8 months, still very young. I know a keeper that wont
  13. I would rather the Kennel Club didnt exist! let alone be allowed to decide what the "breed standard" is. cross breeds such as cockerpoos and springadors make excellent working dogs and have no such breed standard. watch this http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=61370242 and ask yourself whether the Kennel Club and breed standardisation should exist? I have a working Springer from working parents none of which are KC and im glad!
  14. Hi mate, 40ah battery will work fine, as long as its a 12volt although i think youll find the weight a problem?! I use a 12v 17ah on my rotary spinning 2 dead birds (a lot more weight than air pro's) and i get about 13 hours out of mine so i would prob have your battery checked before buying a new one to see if its holding a full charge.
  15. hi mate, interested in gun, where in mids are you?
