  1. its not breaking the law, but the EA ruling on culling 150 birds is the guide for the LICENCED pest control company, not you. Are you insured? Trust me, you dont want to get into trouble. Who is the owner of the site? Biffa, Sita, Shanks etc etc??? (PM me if you dont want it public)
  2. As above. All waste management companies must have a pest control plan in place from a registered pest control company. (I know as im a manager at such a place!) The companies insurance for starters will deffo not cover your activities. I know its easy pickings as it saves the company a fortune, but unfortunately its not allowed. ATB
  3. sounds a fair trade! (as long as its not the rugger pitch cause its empty! ) I'll take that offer in a few weeks Dan. I went out earlier this week and after copping a few bunnies I started shooting high. I eventually realised my scope mounts were loose so a quick re-zeroing session is in order before we go after some bunnies as I'm getting behind on orders for them. Gimmie a holla when your ready. My freezers about empty!

  5. At 95 yards you are at the upper and outer limits of outdoor precision with a .22rf. If you are not using a bipod and a VERY good scope, then 3/4" groups are not just OK they ara F***'in brilliant. Look when you are Rabbiting you have about 20 seconds start to finish, it's dark, raining, the range is whatever it is 30, 50,67??yards Take the shot or forget it, no mildots, no breath control, no wind flags, Oh Dear its run in. Don't worry, be happy! AndyF AM using a bipod and a Meopta 7x50
  6. ...or other land provided that you have checked that it's cleared by the local FLO for the calibre you intend to use first. Do you need to inform Firearms Dept if you shoot on another permission? (assuming its passed calibre) And also do you need to send written permission? (As when applying) If your cert allows you to shoot on any piece of land then that is what you can do. As long as you have permission to shoot on the land you do not need to inform the cops of anything and there is no requirement for the land to be "passed" by the cops for using a particular calibre on.

  8. Zeroed on my permission mate. Yet to find a 100yd range local to me! (although i hear theres one at Switherland? if anybody in Leics knows it?)
  9. I use my .22lr for bunnies so I would be perfectly happy with that kind of grouping. If you can group the air rifle like the 22 at 95 yards it'll be worth seeing. It's a good group mate. I take a golf ball out for practise and drop it at various ranges for rimmys or c/f. If you can hit one of those regular you're on the money. Great idea Rowey He's full of 'em!
  10. if you do this 8 from 10 , you become olimpic champ with r/f .Well done haha, well there were a couple of flyers, but averaged 7-8 out of 10.
  11. Well, had my licence and rifle a day now. Spent an hour or so zeroing in today, and finally started getting groups of approx 3/4 inch at 95yds. Im using eley subs, is this about right? im used to putting one on top of another with air rifles, and know this is unlikely with a .22 I know that at 95yds this is more than enough for a clean kill, its just i wondered is this the general grouping at this range? cheers
  12. That post shows maturity! Or is it experience i like to think both!
  13. Thats a very good price. Scope - £50 mounts - £15 Mag - £25 gun = £210 Haggle, but still a bargain!
  14. Hi mate, The rifle was £320 second hand, but is absolutely like new!
  15. That was my first thought. Mine is 16" but I'm thinking of going down to 14" when I get round to it. I used to have an old BRNO mod 2 that length and it was awsome, wish I still had it. Get it chopped, you won't regret it honest To be honest, ive been zeroing today, and dont find the extra length an issue what so ever. I wont be shooting from vehicles so ill keep it as is for the time being!
  16. Cheers mate. Got granted .22 and 17hmr both for vermin and fox. (oppertunist)

  18. Well, got my FAC today, Woohoo! and already bought a rifle! Gone for a CZ Style, in .22 after much researching and having used them before, and also after some massively appreciated help from forum member "Rowey". You know who you are! Enclosed a quick pic, but here we go:- CZ Style .22 SAK Mod 5 and 10 shot mag Meopta 7x50 (Not mine, but hopefully will be soon!)
  19. You should get an invite anyways if you have an FAC? The invites havent gone out yet as far as im aware.
  20. apparently its an invite only day where all FAC holders in Leicestershire get invited to Police HQ at Enderby and get chance to view the arsenal, the ranges and this year there is a "firepower" demonstration, and an in depth look into the kit the armed response guys use.
  21. not sure exactly the differences, but yes the laws are different between England and Scotland. Generally in England, the ticket will be "closed", this means you can only shoot on the land you have on your licence. An "Open" ticket, is where you are able to decide whether or not a piece of land is safe to shoot on, and providing you have the permission, can shoot it without informing the police.
  22. what they said, but everything you need to know is here:- http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=67282
