My lab has turned three and i have now decided to get her to do some work,she is great at retreving but as soon as the gun is shot over her she is petrefied,do i persaver or am i flogin a dead horse and have left it to late,she is from good working lines???

Hi guys new to the running dog world,allways had terriers and still fly me birds. Just been out and brought a smashing little pup of a good mate of mine.mother is a beddy whippet,father is a saluki greyhound x whippet,well chuffed with him will try and get some pics up..

Hi mate forget a kesy mate such a small margin on weight easy to kill in the wrong hands,then you will have to decide on weather you want a parent reared or inprinted one the later being noisy,no good for hunting-unless you want to catch worms and mothes,get your self some good books and a good mentor first and go out to see if you like it. There is no rush for a bird-on a life long commitment......atvb...

i would go that far it saves getting fret marks in the new deck feathers ,and it saves damaging the folicals in the parsons nose...so in my eyes they are a must!

tail gaurds are a must. you wait all that time for a nice new tail, and then you dont use one. you cannot fly with one on,but they are a must when they are on a kill,

highflyer howya gettin on. cheers for the advice. he was 1.lb 6oz when he started to do it..... i thought at that weight he was low enough like? a mate of mine has his brother from the same clutch and he has him at around 1.lb 8oz and he comes back to him no bother?i couldnt drop him lower than 1.lb 6oz could i?and sorry what do u mean .... if im flying him back to the place im calling him from???? ta for replying chief hi mate what i mean is when you fly them in the garden they get used to it ,i made the same mistake (i think we all do.)that is his teritiory so he will never want to do

Hi mate are you flying him in the garden if so you need to stop .as soon as he is coming full length of creance in the garden ,well as far as you can in the garden he should be flown free. when they snatch its not because they are low mate its because they usually to high and they dont want to work for the food. allso if you are flying him back to thr place where you are calling him from he will keep baiting back there. get him out and get plenty of quary under him....atvb.

SPEND AS MUCH AS YOU CAN ON TELEMETRY MATE ,MARSHALS IS ABOUT THE BEST.....FIRST AND FORMOST MAN YOU FHH AS MUCH AS TIME ALLOWS YOU??....GETTING HER WEIGHT RIGHT IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN TELEMTRY BECAUSE ITS NO GOOD FINDING HER IF SHE DONT COME BACK TO YA........ATB....
