  1. As already mentioned you will need a magnet to turn it on/off. I guess you didn't buy it new? because new MK3m's come with the magnet. I use several of these's MK3m's on my MK1 15ft box & they work well. I asked Deben the range with the MK3m collar when used with a 16ft MK1 box & they informed me it would be reduced to 11ft. & when tested in the field appears about right. Any problems e-mail Deben direct as I found them very helful.
  2. Out of interest.......I've now sourced a detwanger from Elmor Fudd off this site. He makes detwanger's & comes highly recommended from the falcon owners forum. So if you have a Falcon rifle that has an annoying twang when you fire it & it's not the noise of the hammer but air resonating in the air receiver you know who to contact! They are £12 including Recorded P&P
  3. For sale - having a clear out! All cartridge belts now SOLD However I still have a few brand new 12g cleaning mops for sale...to fit Bisley rods etc. £3 including p&p See below for photo of mops
  4. Hi guys,Sorry for any confusion. When I asked about the "detwanger" I was refering to the anti-resonance damper that stops the air resonating in the air receiver when the gun is fired. & yes before I googled a solution to my Falcon "twang" I also thought a detwanger for a pcp was odd! See below..........just to prove it's not me making this up! http://falconowners.wonko.myfastforum.org/archive/detwanger__o_t__t_3719.html
  5. Cheers lads. Bought a Falcon fn19 on a FAC & well pleased. The only down side is that it's not that quiet, so I plan to fit a better moderator...any suggestions on make that would best suit gun? I also notice that some people recommend fitted de-twangers. What do you think? When fitted will it completely stop that annoying "Twang" or just reduce the noise? Where can I get a de-twanger from? Cheers
  6. Just seen a Titan FAC PCP for sale & I have a slot on my licence...so the question is are they any good? Or should I stay clear! Never owned a PCP before so comments welcome.
  7. It will be fine because the mating session won't or should I say shouldn't result in little one's!. I say shouldn't because the vasectomy isn't always a success. But as long as he is definately firing blanks! it will be ok, as the end result won't be little ferrets with genetic problems. Mating siblings doesn't always result in problems, however it's always best to keep a healthy blood line by mating unrelated healthy ferrets. Interbreeding isn't good with any animal
  8. Well...it was a hot day & they just had to cool off See link below
  9. Hi, Three of my jill's had the jab 6 weeks ago & so are sorted for the time being. However my remaining Jill had no signs of coming into season so I decided to leave her & maybe breed from her when she did come into season. Any how she came into season around a month ago.........but over the last few days I can see that she is definately coming out of season as the swelling is going down & she has nipples showing. Now here's the strange part....along with three other Jills she lives with three males, all of whom have no balls! One of the jaffa ferrets has been dragging her
  10. Well at least your vet gets to have another go My poor hob's balls didn't drop after Xmas & never came into season following his vasectomy last year. So I phoned the vet that did the op & explained that it hadn't worked. The vet replied "You can't say the operation hasn't worked....he just isn't interested". I replied "I'm not surprised, as he has no balls"! Anyway the vet agreeded to see him for free & prove me wrong. When the vet examined him he said "Your right......that wasn't a success". I got my jills jabbed for free!
  11. Now I feel bad....I only had four today. I had better go back & have another go! Still the lad & I had fun & the ferrets enjoyed their dinner
  12. I've been asked by one of my relatives who has a farm to pop out & do the business. They are living very close to the farmhouse. In fact so close if it rains I'll set up camp in the upstairs bedroom & shoot in comfort! Mind you the 12g may be a bit loud! A job for something quieter. I'll leave an update here tomorrow.
  13. For Sale brand new Deben Mk3m Ferret Finder - £120 including P&P. Location - near Poole, Dorset. The reason for sale is because I recently bought two of these MK3's. One as a back up & the other as I had misplaced my faithful old mk1..however the mk1 has now turned up! If interested send me a pm.
  14. Never experienced anything like this We hunters do have a compassionate side! Just think if you had taken the four little one's back home she may have raised them as her own........or for supper!!
  15. Every day I start with a smile.....I don't always end the day with one!

  16. I've just taken delivery of two new guys from the local rescue centre I planned to give them supervised visits & gradually introduce them with my other five, however they got on so well I left them after their first visit!
  17. Hi, My vasectomised hob isn't doing the business this year. Last year after the snip he performed & brought two jill's out of season, but his plums haven't dropped this year & he isn't interested So if anyone has a vasectomised hob & is willing to let him do the biz on a couple of horny jills send me a pm. If not it's off to the vets for the jab Cheers
  18. I would just like to thank "Sage" for all his help in sorting my O/U 12g shotgun. My gun was suffering light strikes & getting parts for a 25 year old spanish made gun isn't easy.....anyway thanks to Sage it's all sorted. He had a spring in stock...infact both springs for the early & later model of gun!..top bloke So if you have any gun problems he's your man. Sage is a partner in UK Gunrepairs.co.uk....see his profile on this site for more details. Sage informs me that the website should be up & running very soon. Until then I'm sure he won't mind you sending him a
  19. Those pics make you realise that some people are worse than vermin. If I kept any animal in that condition I'd deserve all I got. But I guess the people who treat animals in this way get away with it....shame! On a positive note: I currently have five ferts & work them all The local rescue centre have been looking to re-home two ferrets for a while. Friends & family keep ringing knowing that I love the little guys.....anyway last weekend I weakened.....they arrive this Thursday at 2pm! However the new ferts are pets for my lad He keeps reminding me..."You're not wo
