  1. just like YOU WOULD WITH RATS and crows ,stoats ,weasels, mink ,feral cats ,foxes ..................your a real joy You never know oakey might be the sort of crazy that likes that sort of varied diet
  2. All the crows that I shoot get thrown in the hedge and the pigeons come home for tea. All the rabbits go to the ferrets unless they are 3/4 grown which will then be my dinner, me and my mate get a bbq going at dinner time and roast the bunny on that. Quite satifying
  3. The problem with choc labs is that they have been bred for the colour along with the not so common fox-red coloured lab and I've only ever seen yellow or black labs working. For the last ten years I've worked with pointers because they point before that it was labs if I wanted a general gun dog a lab bitch would be my choice, great tempered, great retrievers, brilliant water dogs, brilliant with ferrets and rabbiting. The last bitch we had had a great relationship with the ferrets, she'd carry them in her mouth and the ferts were non to bothered. In my opinion the thing to remember with d
  4. Yeah they'll take peas over everything else in my opinion and as long as peas are available they keep coming for them.
  5. Everytime I try to post in the shooting opportunities section I get this sentence in red, "You must select a topic prefix to post in this forum." However I can't see where to select this please can someone help? Thank you, Lee
  6. Hi, For sale is my Lanber Sporter Delux in absolutley as new condition, literally couldn't be in better condition. It's got 28inch barrels, 5 chokes and key. I still have the box from when I bought it. It's fired 100 30g Eley pigeon cartridges from new which is the reason why I'm selling because it's to nice for all the rough shooting that I do. It cost £800 brand new, I'm looking for £600 delivered. I'd prefer face to face but will RFD. http://s848.photobucket.com/albums/ab41/lee-kinsman/Lanber%20Sporter%20Delux/?albumview=slideshow Thanks, Lee

  8. If it's only a very small amount I wouldn't worry to much about cleaning it, if it is mites cleaning the wax won't get rid of them. I'd watch it for increasing and for his ear getting red-ish. If this starts to happen then he's probably got mites in which case you could get some drops from the vet or maybe from a good pet store. Ear drops for cats or dogs would do the job, just don't use the same amount.
  9. Thanks chaps for the replies. The rifle is a 1:9 twist.
  10. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has a favourite recipe that they like to use in reloading for their .223. The rifle is a Ruger M77 Mk2 .223. The rifle is used purely as a hunting rifle for foxes, muntjac and CWD so the bullet must be 50grains. What bullet, primers and powder do you use and how good is the grouping at 200yds? Thank you, Lee
  11. South Derbyshire or South Lincolnshire if that would suit. Ferreting, pigeon shooting, rifling rabbits, roost shooting. Thanks, Lee.

  15. I think it's a great idea re-homing ferrets and with the right approach I think all ferrets will work. I phoned a ferret rescue place up a month ago looking for a few to bring to the team and they wanted £45 quid for jills and £40 for hobs. I know the have to cover costs but flippin eck. Anyway, hope you get sorted with one.
  16. I agree with what people are saying here... don't breed because it's obvious by your question that you don't know ferrets yet. Anyway to answer your question....... You will know when your gill is "In Season" by the slight swelling of her f*nny which can be located no more than 1cm from her arse hole, her arse hole being the one right under her tail. If you can't tell the difference now then that means that you will upset quite a few women and that will also probably mean that she is not "In Season". You will also know that the Hob is ready to Nob your Jill when you see that his BALLS
  17. For sale is my Laurona 12b. It's in v.good condition, the barrels 28 inch, they are not blued they are nickel plated so you don't have to worry about them rusting however this has never been an excuse to not clean it. The gun has been well looked after, I did have 5 other chokes and the key but I have lost them in a house move last year. It is also a double selective trigger which means you can use any trigger for both barrels, this is an advantage for people with a shorter trigger pull. SOLD SOLD SOLD http://s848.photobucket.com/albums/ab41/lee-kinsman/Laurona%20OU%2012B%203inch%20
  18. I know alot of the peoplem on here have said wrong time for decoying, but I went out for literally two hours yesterday and shot 13 birds that were landing in my decoys, I sat under a hawthorn bush that borders a bean field. This field is about 14 acres, there were alot of pigeons landing in the middle of the field too. My advice, keep camo'd up and well hidden, don't forget your gun and ammo, go out early and spend an hour or so watching the flights, take some decoys and have a great time.

The floor is 3/4 inch marine ply and the roof a galvanised steel, on the front is a very heavy duty mesh (it was cut to size with a stihl saw) that is 8ft x 4ft. I had it built 18months ago and I'm now moving is my reason for sale. It's in perfect condition!
