  1. I know that it's hard to tell by looking at a pic over the net, but can anyone make a guess on what x this dog could be.
  2. Went to get the dog out this morning at six oclock to find his mouth was swollen on one side, cant see anything in there and it's not hurting him when I touch or prod it. Any ideas? before I fork out £85 opening fee plus treatment fee at the vets.
  3. You would be suprised how good my little collie x works the bushes, obviously not as good as a good terrier but pretty impressive all the same. Anyway, had to put up with a few days of moodyness from the missus as she told me not to get anymore dogs, so If I was to fetch a terrier home aswell I would probably be sharing a bed with it in the shed. Thanks for the comments folks.
  4. Sire 23in racing whippet, dam 20in f1 beddy whippet. Settling in just nice with my 10 month 3/4 whippet/collie
  5. Im sure I saw 2 litters of 3/4 bred beddy whippets in last weeks countrymans weekly and im sure they were in Wales.
  6. LT 50, good runner, a repair has been made to front mudguard but other than that it's in pretty good condition. £300 no offers Pics to follow.
  7. Yes it's a striker, was using 2 12v 7ah batteries but was advised to buy 1 bigger 1 then the kid next door recently got a young lurcher and a bare lamp(clulite) so I gave him my batteries. Now just can't decide what to buy.
  8. I've been looking at batteries on ebay and there is a 12v 22ah for £25. Just wondering if this size is used by anyone else or do I not need a 1 so big? Also the weight is 6.5kg, is this gonna be too heavy to carry for a few hours?
  9. Whole rabbit as in skin, head, guts, the lot?
  10. dam - 1st cross collie whippet, sire - kc whippet
  11. 10 weeks <a href="http://s838.photobucket.com/albums/zz309/kwackerzak/?action=view&current=S7000661.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz309/kwackerzak/S7000661.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> 4 1/2 months <a href="http://s838.photobucket.com/albums/zz309/kwackerzak/?action=view&current=S7000753.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i838.photobucket.com/albums/zz309/kwackerzak/S7000753.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> 9 months
  12. Load of shite I thought. Three quid to enter a lurcher into a class being judged by a terrier man, who picked out poorly shaped bull crosses over anything else. Another problem was the grass in the ring was full of thistles, causing the dogs to walk like they were on hot coals. By the way, I didn't enter my dog, so these arn't bitter comments from a sore looser.
  13. This maybe a stupid question but as im new to ferreting im in the middle of buying all the equiptment ready for the season starting and the next thing on my list is a spade. Which is the best to use, a digging spade with a pointed tip or a general purpose square spade, or does it not matter?
  14. I have a 9 month 3/4 whippet 1/4 collie that is 21 tts, at 4 1/2 calendar months he was 17 tts and 5 1/2 months he was just under 19 tts. Hope this helps.
  15. I bought two young jills a fortnight ago, both 8 weeks old. I built the cage below out of some scrap ply I had lying around, I'd just like to know if it is big enough to house two jills? I have been advised to buy a bottle of ferretone or use sunflower oil and let them lick it off my fingers so they don't start to bite, is this neccessary as they have never bitten me yet and been handled a couple of times a day over the last two weeks?
  16. Thanks for all the replies, its put my mind at rest a little now.
  17. I was out walking my 9 month old pup today when a rabbit lifted right near him and he chased it for about 40 yards then caught it. When I got to him he had eaten the head and was reluctant to give it up. Its his first rabbit so wasn't to sure if he would retrieve but eating it is the last thing I wanted, do you think it could be an on-going thing?
  18. I went. Only a small show but pleased I went because my pup was second out of 17 so im quite pleased. I know it means nothing like but pleased anyway.
  19. Leeboy - Just gone 8 months, bred by a kid at bishop. Adam - 21 tts, 30 lbs
  20. So would you say this collie whippet is too heavy for rabbits?
