  4. cheers mate, sym Hi Mate, Just been reading what had happened to you Disgusting is a word i would use mate if you still got the recepit from the shop you bought the gun off it is down to him to sought the problem out for you not for you to ring bsa up and sought it out yourself. You have every right to complain to trading standards and to report the shop owner for not honouring your puchase, As far as i under stand the recepit is a gaurantee for 12 months for which the shop owner must by law sought the problem out for you,If he does not sought it out its up to him to ring bsa up and

  10. I think the reason is the trees that has the rookery overhang over the stream and over his land and i think that when we shoot them they fall and land straight onto his field,And thats why he does not like us being there and i have said to him that all birds will be picked up off his land and disposed of,But he is not having any of that as he will do me for tresspassing,So decided to leave well alone and let the farmer sort it out, Got plenty of othr places to go. steve.

Thanks for the advice guys,,, All i know is if you picture the scene 2 fields opposite each other,Straight down the middle of the 2 fields is a stream,This is a boundry,,,,Now according to the farmer i had the permission off everything on his land including the rookery is his,But everything on the otherside of the stream is this eco worriors land an
  12. Can someone tell me if a rook, crow, magpie or any bird which is a pest within the law is protected by law while it is nesting? The reason i ask this is that i went on new permission this morning with my mate to a huge rookery at the end of the field, while we were shooting the branchers a voice from within the rookery shouted out that we were braking the law, The next thing this bloke came out shouting all the odds with us saying that while the rooks were nesting it is against the law for us to be shooting them, With that i replied that all the eggs in the rookery had hatched and the branch
  13. Thats a good point phantom made,,,I think getting yourself covered by insurance is the done deal as a lot of land owners will see you Are a compitant person and ive also found that if you go knocking on landowners doors a shirt & tie work wonders, Jeans & a kevin and perry t shirt donot get you permission mate, Hope it helps atb, Steve
  14. Went shooting very early yesteday morning and there were rooks everywhere there were young all over the place, As soon as we walked down to the rookery the adults just vanished as i think they new what was about to happen,Then all hell broke loose, My mate was the otherside of the rookery and we walked from one end to the other, It was something out of a war film with birds dropping everwhere, We did not shoot any adults as they just disapeared, Out of 200 cartridges fired we 157 rooks, 3 squirrels, and 2 magpies, We had to stop by 10.30 as i had dislocated my shoulder,But my mate and shooting
  15. Hello mate from one welshman to another. Steve.
  16. Ive just come back from my ground and the rooks are everywhere like you said they are not very strong on the wing at the moment and the parents where coming in really close to us to feed them, so myself and my mate are going back early saturday morning to give them hell I dont think they are early it was the same time of the year last year when we went guns blazing and i think its something to do with the weather and how much food is about for them. If i was you mate i would get back there asap and get those barrels hot, Steve.
  17. I have a Baikel o/u shotgun which ive owned for a good many yrs and due to the fact that i do most of my shooting at night and its always raining i see that my barrels are looking a little rough, I try and dry the gun barrels but ive seen recently that they are getting a little tatty, Is there anything i can put on the barrels before i go out shooting in the rain? Or is there something i can put on the barrels to protect it when ive been shooting?. Would be gratefull for some advice,, Cheers, Steve.

  20. I find if you are a big chap like myself who likes there roast dinners i dont wash my camo gear as they shrink in the wash no matter what temp you wash them at, I always put them over the line outside and put the hose pipe on them and let them dry on the line then they wont shrink..
