  1. I actually read that the other day when i was trying to track down some decent indian game, interesting read although i spend alot of time looking at my poultry and like something that looks pretty too
  2. I will give it a try this year and see what they are like, had thought about running a few indian game hens with the barnevelders, that way i could easily seperate the meat bird eggs and wouldn't really take up any extra space, depends if they lay enough eggs.
  3. I also keep barnvelders, and they are good layers and good eating. not the best layers, but the best layers do not make good eating. also had indian game, nice eating birds, but not great layers. I suspect the barnvelder has a fair amount of indian game in there make up already. Yes they do but i'm hoping to put a little more meat on the breast and keep two flocks, one pure barnevelder and the other a cross just for meat. Did you cross the indian game with your barnevelders ?
  4. I keep Barnevelders, good egg layers and make a nice eating bird but looking at crossing some with indian game to see what that produces.

I'm guessing you didn't try the pups then . no but he tried my patience going on about the depth plus his wife said he could have done with the exercise .. not a place to visit too often you could have done with taking tigerdog2 with you mate, he'd have dug her out in no time . At least you got a result, well done. would have dug it ourselfs if it hadnt have bolted would have took us a while but would have got there in the end At least you now know the place is more than it seems, would have loved to see the look on your faces though

  19. Now i know who you are, i know what you mean when you talk about Prince as we have spoken about him in the past. I never bought the dog i just worked him for several seasons and then returned him. I know what was said about the dog when i had him but i can only say what i saw and the dog was hard into them and never gave. He was almost unmarked when i had him but not when he left, he wasn't the hardest dog i've ever had but he put it in when it was needed and i only ever dug one hole to him. I very nearly lost all my dogs because i didn't breed any for nearly 7 years and all of a sudden i lost
  20. Nobody ever really knows how much digging people really do, especially these days and you never really know how good a dog is until it's under pressure and pulls out that extra but you would really need to see a dog work more than a few times to see that, Prince did that more than a few times and i dug stuff with him that had been well dogged in the past and the dog never let me down, what more could you ask for. Bo is out of my old bitch spookie. I notice you didn't knock w, so i guess you agree, if the stuff was crap, he wouldn't still have dogs from me. If you want to talk about the dogs an
  21. Your right, very, very few undiluted still about. Yes she was and still is some bitch although at 8 years i'm careful where i put her but she's not a bitch that will just sit in a kennel and needs to still work. Didn't see task work myself but i worked a son of hers who is the grandfather to these pups and worked the father very hard, who is 9 now. Wayne A and a few others are given pups from every litter i have to make sure i get honest feedback from good digging lads and it also makes sure i don't slip into kennel blindness. If the bitch had smaller litters none would be forsale but with lit
  22. The dogs look really well mate a credit to you. I know your pleased with the way the dog works has the bitch had a look yet ?
  23. only the bitch with the white blaze is an axle terrier.the other 2 are mine and have no axle blood. If you let me know how lass is bred, i'll tell you if she is related in any way but she is not in the direct blood of that bitch.
