I have a solution. Whenever you've ruined a warren by digging to the ferrets, take some wood with you and

  5. haven't you got some scribbling you should be getting on with?
  6. and alot of chatin s.h.i.t. i.e. the comment about not being able to stock break lurchers that eat meat! and the comment about people having them living in their homes with other pets (irrelevant), and the comment about blood craving killing machines....they're predators, therefore they do kill, if they had no interest in killing then they probably wouldn't hunt and chase rabbits in the warren. anyway, like you say, your method works for you.....fingers crossed there's a bowl of dried food down the warren next to the nest of newborns then so your ferrets go for that instead of the next
  7. I think you'll probably find Robs post was aimed at me It wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, and as I put on my last post, I wasn't having a pop.
  8. Spoon?? not been called that since I was about 10! No, you misunderstand what I was putting. I wasn't having a pop, or even refering to you specifically. I was replying to Ideations post about possible reasons why people would still be ferreting this time of year, I was just saying that I reckon that's the reason why some people still do it. Some people have to because that's what the farmer wants or to make sure they keep permission (which I think is what you were saying), but others still go because they don't want to stop, same with lamping. Just an observation, that's all. atb
  9. How's it going over there in Cukoo land? Back to the topic - one thing always strikes me. If your in desperate need of going ferreting to keep the numbers down, to keep permission, to me it suggests one of a number of things. Either - - It's permission you have just got in summer and so need to make a sudden and visible impact. - You're doing a pretty poor job over winter and need to take a look at what you are doing and what you promise. - You have too much land and over stretched yourself, again making promises you can not keep. Discuss. Or...You're new to ferreti
  10. That boxer must have had the canine equivalent of a midget fetish!!
  11. pretty much every subject has been covered at some point so what do you want everyone to do, just sit there doing searches without ever putting anything new on?
  12. Aye mate, it's a pretty color so its bound to do the biz. sarcy git
  13. I just got my jill spayed, problem solved.
  14. I think the only purpose of bleaching it is to make it more appealing for humans. Don't think it does anything else.
  15. It's better untreated, my brother in law feeds his lurcher on it. I don't give it to mine though cos when I have in the past she's stunk the house out for the next couple of days
  16. I went out for a drive yesterday and ran out of petrol, can't quite put my finger on what went wrong.
  17. Mine's 9 months and can be a bit of a handful. She isn't aggressive towards other dogs, quite the opposite in fact, she get so over excited and properly bounds all over them, and does the same with people. It's my fault cos I generally take her for walks in the middle of nowhere rather than busy parks etc. She's proper obedient when there's no one around, and if there's a dog or person fairly nearby she won't go to them if I tell her not to, but if they are close (within 10m or so) she's off. She's starting to show signs of calming down a bit now though thank god. A couple of weeks ago th

  19. Ok cheers, I'd just give pigeons to the dog whole, that's ok isn't it?
  20. Is it OK to feed dogs and ferrets on pretty crows, squirrels, pigeons etc. as long as they're regularly wormed? or is there some reason why it's not advisable? Just bought my first airgun from a lad off here and I was just wondering what I can and can't use for dog and ferret food. Cheers
  21. you still got this? can't pm as your inbox is full.
  22. I get full chickens (half per day), beef mince, stewing steak, turkey, and a couple of times a week liver or kidney, all from tesco. During the season rabbits aswell. No problems with worms, just worm them regularly.
