    best way pal, tell no f****r, those little spots that hasnt been touched mite hold some nice ones, i use to know of a place just like that which held some monsters in and it was only about 3ft deep and very silted up place, i use to love going there and would of loved to take my son cos you was almost guaranteed a good un but i showed someone like a knob only for him to take someone else and so on, then it turned into some thing like you'd see on a match, heres what i use to catch, atb but for f**k sake keep it to yourselfs, let us know how you get on, i use that size as bait only jokin

    think i will let the other boys reply to this.cant see you being a very well liked man after that statement fella. Agree to a degree, the terrier you're breeding from SHOULD be a worker first and formost, secondly it SHOULD have a pedigree of unbroken workers behind it on both sides. Anything less and you're on a slippery slope to a yard full of shit. And theres still the old chestnut of nothing in life is guaranteed, you pays you're money and takes you're chance.     then surely the russell was that original hunt terrier then(by the way i only have the blacks). Not neccisarilly. They were the digging dogs, others were bred for the hunt as well as russells. By the way I only have whites The black dogs you will have now are not the kind of dogs they were years ago.     i didnt say they wasnt used on both quarry.how far are you going back regarding the lakey/fell types being the main foxing terriers? as a hunt terrier,that master would require the fox to be bolted(unless otherwise told to dispatch)for the hounds to continue to hunt.im sure if anything,the lakey/fell types where in the norm hard to their fox,not unlike many strains today.....     what i think you are trying to say is not many blacks dont make the grade,whether they be hard or the bay type where as many a russell dont even make the bay type.way too many an old dear have a russell there for many a lad are selling to these customers.

    Bring your good big dog up this end bud and try it in some kicked out rabbit burrows. Youd still be digging your dog in while I had done the job and on to the next earth. Having a small terrier (not stupidly small) is an invaluable addition to any team in this area.
