  2. Gamebore mammoth steel 42g 1s will do the job on geese And mammoth steel 36g 3s for duck If not over water you could use sum rc50 3s for geese and any 35g 5s for duck

    10 bore

i have 'The Basque' 10bore, old s/s, was 350quid at the beginning of the year(march), in very good nik..might cost you abit more now as prices seem to go up at the start of the season got the chokes reamed out to 3/8 for using steel using remington sportsman steel number 2s for duck and remington nitro steel BBs for geese great patterns at 50yrds+ and at just under £30 for 25 bangs its not alot more than 12bore 3 1/2'' cartridges...the extra couple of quid is well spent as they out perform a 12bore by a good way I will be reloading some heavy 'hevi shot and/or tungsten loads' for th
  5. I am wanting a small dog that's quick off the mark for rabbits flushed from cover by terriers, bolted by ferrets. And maybe odd bit of lamping and ratting. What dog would you recommend? How old before you take a dog out for its first chase on a rabbit?
  6. Well used but well built so plenty of life in it. A few nocks on it as you would xpect. Bluing rubbed abit from pumping. Short barel, I think 25inch. Quarter choke (fixed). Perfect rough gun, mint in hide for decoying. For sale due to wanting a dog wil be sorry to see it go, mint little gun. Located near Scarborough, north yorkshire.wil let it go for 150pounds

  11. yes and no... some foreshore you can shoot wildfowl without the need to ask permission some places you cant..MOD land, harbours, ports, some NNrs and LNRs
  12. there is no reason he couldnt own it, anyone can buy and own the land or rights over the land although i would want some solid proof before i started wandering onto the marsh with the gun, he should have some plans/maps of his land, have a look at the boundaries! maybe approach the chairman of the club in the area and ask for them to show you there boundaries. ask the local council if they can help you find out. if the farmer owns the land, he may not own the rights to shoot it, land and rights often get sold seperately, so make sure you check who has the rights not who owns the
  13. yeh because people read signs and obey what they say signs wont make any difference at all to most folk, if they wana have a go they will no matter what finding lakes is easy, google earth shows them all and then word of mouth, good fishing locations spread like wildfire between the foreigners! and dont think kids wont go places, kids are more likely to get places adults wouldnt, trust me, nt long since i was in me nappys running around the countryside falling out of trees and swimming in 'secret' lakes
  14. shame we cant use it at all in england although with the laws in scotland it can be easily misjudged the lead ban in england is stupid but if we dont adhere to the law we risk losing everything! its not all as bad as some make out though, majority of guns will fire steel and alot of the steel loads are as cheap (if not cheaper) than lead loads
  15. No i used 65mm on monday night i used to own a lanber and they can fire 3inch mag it ,ll tell you on the gun not all lanbers have 3inch chambers!
  16. u hav a lanber? with quarter and open chokes that will fire normal steel loads, get something around 32g and no 4 or 5s they will do the business on ducks over flightponds! and they arent expensive either if you want better carts get bismuth or itm, plenty of loads in 2 3/4 inch again, better killing range but alot more money!
  17. no mate plenty of steel carts in 2 3/4 inch i use mirage 2 3/4inch 32g steel loads for duck i know a bloke who uses his homeloaded no 7s in steel, they are really good cartridges over flightpond (closer range than coastal fowling) they are 2 3/4 inch carts

    wet gear

for walkign aorund beating/rough shooting etc through long grass and cover crops you wouldnt want to be wearing any full suits or neoprene waders, you would not be comfy and would over heat .. a pair of decent high boots some cheap gaiters over them a pair of wax chaps or leggings over them and a decent goretex jacket (or wax) plenty of decent waterproof jackets out there (i can recommend the 'gadwall')
