  1. I have a saluki bull grey here he is coming up 2 he does the lot day and night very quick dog with a good turn of speed.I woulnt mind a pup from him as he has slipped hiss back and will never run 100percent again sounds ideal :whistling: scott ive just read ur reply saying ur dogs back is out have u tried to get it sorted as i know a muscle bone man he goes to carlisle every month J42 i,ve took greyhounds to him only takes a fiver might be worth a try.
  2. completly agree. i never had the kennel room for a number of dogs.that is what i did as the above quote.but i would buy in a pup as i have never bred dogs.
  3. have you any pics mate? where u from? And how much wil u be selling the pups for? And what have the parents done how tall are they and how old are parents Super sam that is a fine example of a dog and if your doing it for sport you dont need nets do you what gets away gets away for another day and you say he did fox pre-ban then what more can u ask for do you or did you do many big rabbits with him dont have many big rabbits but he has got a few over the years. he has taken a handy few fox this season but my main quarry is rabbits. and cheers chilly
  4. hope ur dogs ok now,a wee tip for u if a dog is limping and you cant see see swelling or it doesnt show signs of pain when u check him over it could be comming from his spine,if front ,straddle over the dog put your thumbs either side of spine between shoulder blades press down a little pressure he,ll let u no,or if legs go down,
  5. seen this once with a pup i had i phoned the vet he asked me if she had eaten anything different, only thing was dog bisciuts i got from market he said it could be an allergy to stuff in the biscuits next morning she was fine, treats put in bin,.never happened again.

    mag box

theres a mag box for sale on greyhound data 200pounds
  7. a greyhound running loose over rough ground, woods etc dont think you,ll get many seasons with him,a tragedy waiting to happen unless your really really lucky,i,ve seen lots of dogs breack legs, hocks;and wrist muscle injuries on the track and most of them get plenty of freedom to run when growing up,their just to fast and they only see what their chasing, capable of running into anything but best of luck you,ll need it,why do u think the lurcher was bred, cos its got everything speed brains stamina.

  11. ok ive read all posts, just say ive got a greyhound bitch 1stclass breeding and great temperemont this bitch would run through a brick wall on the track shes 26kilo 25ints still racing whats ur opinion of a stud to make good rabitting dogs my lurcher is 5now so time to get a pup i normlly buy but always fancied breeding, ive had different crosses over the years and lurcher x lurcher the way of the mining villages then best bitch /dog got bred, thinking bedlington stud, like to hear ur views, cheers
  12. most nights i stop and get mine a kerbab and chips but laterly kfc is near were we lamp know where ur coming from as u say athetes always drinking isotonic drinks,i keep both lurchers and greyhounds,in my opinion if u feed ur lurcher a balanced diet and always have fresh water that should be enough for rabbiting, when it was legal for coursing hares after a run i would sit for a while til they got breath back, knew guys who were always in a hurry for next run their dogs didnt get as many seasons as ours, electrolite salts are great for dogs prone to cramp sorted a greyhound out for me,i
  13. here,s my advice GO straight to the vet my vet takes 18.50 complete check,he,ll know straight away what cause is,my own opinion for what its worth is it cold be rickets caused by lack of calcium,i bought a pup years ago at 10wks was very thin but bones looked ok paid 10 pounds for her[1985] 2 weeks later noticed one off her legs below wrist looked not right much like yours went to vet thinking have to put her to sleep vet took onelook gave me a bottle of calcium she turned out a good allrounder, won an odd rossete at shows and racing, the dog looks in great condition credit to ya.
  14. lurchers for the field greyhounds for the track unless organised coursing where the land is selected for safety,i have both .greyhounds only see what they are chasing, theire will be some exceptions but few off them.ps greyhounds are like racehorces finely tuned athletes easily injured,i,we,ve all seen lurchers bouncing off off fences next day fine if it was agreyhound it have done wrist or pulled muscles,
  15. ive had lurchers for 35yrs always get pups dont want other peoples mistakes all my dogs didnt turnout superstars but they could all catch their share and were well behaved and the bond u get cant b bought.no feeling like seeing their 1st catch cos udid it yurselfs
