  1. It is a real pity that it has come to this, but thats life. Hang on in there, all things come to them that wait.
  2. On some of the bigger flies that I tie I would use a flying treble, so the answer to your question is yes to the salmon hook. My mate once use 5/6 rod, but got into trouble when a high double took the fly. You can get a nine foot rod rated for a 8/9/line.

Are ya a man or mouse, have been eating a jar of mustard for past two months on sambos, SBD was June 2001, mind you, they just might go through you quicker than an express train.
  4. Well boys talk to me about this show boy.
  5. Sure we are all dreamers Mark, you should know that more that anyone
  6. Depends on the rateing of the rod, I use a ten foot rod, its rated for a 10 line, I have seen Pike caught on lighter rods, but the fight takes it toll on the fish after awhile, so a stronger rod will be the proper job.. I use different size hooks when tying the flies. The ones in the picture were tied on 2/0 sea hooks.
  7. Got ran off a lake some time ago, all because some mindless b*****ds were to lazey to tidy up after them Before we left we cleaned the crap up and made it known to the land owner that we as cleaned up his land and am hoping to get back there soon.
  8. This is a method that I love, my best to date is just over fifteen, my mate had one over thirty on my out-fit. Here are a few of the flies that I tie and use. John

  16. It matters not what other people think of your dog, it you that counts, one mans good dog is another mans rubbish, thats the way it is, have seen it so many times before. I think in the right hands is should make a good bunny catcher. All the very best with the pup.
  17. My guess would be to much of the black Irish stuff
  18. Some time ago I was contacted by two UK based pike anglers, they were looking for info on good pike waters that gave them a chance of catching the odd twenty, it turned out that theses guys had yet to catch a twenty. Anyway I went one better and meet up with the lads and brought them to one of my wee lakes that holds plenty of high twenties. Long story short, for the three days they fished this lake they had four twenties and plenty of high doubles between them, over the moon the were, I have lost contact with them, both lads were from Blockpool and were members of the Blackpool Pike Angli
  19. Had this problem with my dog. Mother-in-law jammed it in the car boot(clumsy cow) vet ended up amputating 1" off. As socks says use a piece of old hose or as i used was a small fizzy pop bottle with the bottom cut off. Looks rather stupid but it works......
