  1. Hello all hope you all had a good christmas.

i was on call from work till about 11am then headed up to jamie2004lives house got everything ready we had chance and holly and jamie's dogs brock and his daughter about 8 month old polo, we got to the first wood tracks everywhere first earth nothing pads in and out, got to the second chance gave a solid mark we thought it was brocks turn seemed like a good spot for him so collared him up and away he went he was in about a couple of mins and he had found so left him to settle and located him he was silent at 0.7 so we opened up to him and he had things well under control removed dog and dispatched fox and gave to all the dogs for a rag , it was a dog fox so we ran holly back through nothing thought there would of been a vixen in but not to be so took a couple of pics, cleaned up and away not that there was much to fill in, we tried a few more nothing in and jamie had went up another part to check some earths and rang to say he had marked one so i headed over and chance was very keen to be in and it looked a tight spot with lots of roots so thought we would let chance in see if he was back to normal netted up and collared chance up and away he went he was running around for a while then steady away right under a big tree :icon_eek: so we started digging down roots everywhere got down he was sitting up close but it was too tight to get right in so removed dog and cut away a couple of roots and could see the fox so dispatched, a nice vixen and gave to brock and polo it was her first proper rag and naturally flew straight in (good to see), took a few pics but a couple didnt work of the hole under the tree, but still got a few so here you are a another good day out a good job by brock and happy to see chance back to normal

  2. Hello all

We had recieved a few calls about foxes being seen about so i got away early and meet J.D. at mine and then headed to jamie2004lives house we got there at 10ish and then away to the first spot we got to the very first spot and chance gave a solid mark it was a big spot about 10 holes so we netted up and then collared chance up and away he went, left him about 20mins located dog still moving so waited a while and then J.D. gave a shouted fox had hit the net and carried on going :icon_eek: with chance giving chase so i went and checked the net it had frozen and couldnt purse properly gutted finally got chance back and moved on tried a few more nothing at home so we got back to the motor and had abit bait and then went to the next place which most of the foxes had been seen, we tried the first 4 nothing but we had just missed one fresh prints coming out, we then passed a shitty little spot an old rabbit spot and all dogs were going mad so we let dogs near and all gave a solid marks with it looking very small and tight brock would of struggled so we netted up and let chance in, he was digging on for a long while then we could here he was mixing it so got a mark 1.1 started digging and jam shouted one had hit the net before we could move another one followed it out and away we didnt think it was going to bolt never mind 2 so the gun wasnt ready :wallbash: we then dispatched the one in the net and went back to chance who was silent in same spot so we carried on digging and broke through to chance who was in control so removed dog and dispatched fox which was another vixen 2 vixens so i guess the one that got away was a dog, anyway we cleaned up and it was dark by now so we got everthing and head the quicker route to motor and jamie passed a old artificial which we havent had anything out and brock was wanting in we thought it was strange and he was just kean because he hadnt been in anywhere but jamie said he was giving a solid mark so we collared him up and brock SQUEEZED in he was digging on for a while so we trusted the dog and then he was steady baying which isnt normal for him so we tied dogs up and got a mark, opened up and broke through to brock it was a tight spot so removed him and opened the pipe up abit checked up to see a nice fox sitting so we left brock there and tried opening up behind it which it moved and ran straight to brock so we removed brock and dispatched, then J.D. shouted to me chance wasnt moving so we ran over to find he had choked himself over a fallen branch he wasnt moving or breathing tongue hanging out it had only been a couple of mins since he had been going mad couldnt believe it so i removed leader and picked him up nothing so i put down and started blowing down his nose and pumping his chest checked again didnt seem to be anything checked his eyes with my torch they werent fixed pupils so tried a bit more and he started breathing seemed like ages but he still couldnt moved just lay there so i carried him to the motor and gave water and he seemed to be responding to my relief anyway i am home now he is infront of the fire and he has had his bait so he is in the house the night so i can keep an eye on him, so after all a very mixed day and i am f****d we did get a couple of pics not the best as it was very good dark by the time we took them but here u are Cheers for reading

  6. Everyone talks about dogs being marked up, it all depends on the way they work hard terriers are normally marked up but you cant dig them week in week out and normally need a few weeks rest, a soft terrier (bayer) does get the odd mark but some dont and you can dig them week in week out, both workers have different benifits and it is handy if you can have one of each

and dogs given the right healing time can look like they have no marks so unless u know the dog u cant really comment, my dog in the summer doesnt have any marks, doesnt look like a worker but in winter you cant see him for marks

  7. I know lots of lads don't like them, but each to their own, i do, and was wondering if any of the old lines of d.wheeler are still about? Done a bit of a search, but not come up with too much.

Iam very keen to find some good pups, or at least some genuine lads with good dogs that could help?

    All the best.

Hello mate the dog on the left is a nuttall/wheeler dont know the exact lines i bought him not long ago took a chance and he started doing the job straight away and hes been going strong since, same with the dog on the right didnt have from pup bought him and was told nuttall lines wasnt really bothered mate both doing doing really well

  8. Hello all

Another day off today so me and jamie2004live went out, brock was still in sick bay from last week fox had bitten through his foot still sore so we had my dog chance and young bitch holly and jamie's young bitch so we started out at 9 went to first wood lots of tracks about checked 2 earths 1 had tracks going in and out must have just missed it and the other nothing so we moved to the next wood same again lots of tracks about we followed them and they went straight in a big spot about a 5 holer which can run deep, let chance have a look he gave a solid mark so i collared up and away he went he was on within 5 mins then he moved alot of running about and then we could hear him in a shallow spot mixing then silent he had bottled it up we got a mark of 0.9 and set away opening up, we broke through straight away, chance was locked on very tight spot he had just squeezed through enough to take hold, fox had done a good job of buring itself so removed fox and dog then dispatched and gave to dogs for a rag here are a few pics and even got jam doing a bit back filling LOL

We then moved on to another spot about 20 min drive we have had a few off here in the past it does have a couple of good old artificials on which have produced a good few in the past, so we wondered about checking a couple of earths nothing about but plenty sign of fox, so checked first artificial nowt got to the second tracks going in so i colllared my young bitch holly up and away she went, she was straight on sitting steady away waited abit for a quick bolt nothing so found dog in mid pipe still steady away so we broke through (old clay pipe) removed dog and dispatched fox and removed i checked pipe to see why it was sitting mid pipe it was blocked up behind the fox, so took a few pics and cleaned up then away another good day another 2 accounted for so keepers happy job done Cheers for reading
