  1. Don't worry about it, it's only the internet
  2. If you stopped there we could have agreed on something If you want, as you say, to have it right, then don't post a load of shit about others and expect no reply. For a lad who exports to deepest darkest Africa you should know that much about the world
  3. Seems to me your eyesight needs checking too
  4. You'd want to get that memory of your checked Wilf, re read the thread while you're at it
  5. Poor Donnie, only trying to feather his own nest do his best and them all out to get him
  6. Simon Coveney is possibly one of the people on this planet I dislike the most. But, against an attitude like you seem to hold based on your comments here I'll back him to the hilt
  7. I love that line. No one is stopping ye leaving. The issue is ye don't just want that, ye also want X,Y & along with it. Time to wake up to the fact there are other countries with their own interests in the world who are willing and able to express and defend those interests. I'd say there's plenty of sour milk in Tory tea this morning.
  8. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_Area
  9. Confirmation bias I believe is what they call that. As I said earlier on, there's no educating you on this.
  10. If they willingly identify as British why would I, that's their choice not anything I'm pinning on them.
  11. Ara Wilf, ask them on the 12th when they're burning the Irish flEg on bonfires how Irish they're feeling.
  12. Ahm, that's not comparing like with like. Port to port cargo shipment via the worlds oceans is different from a land border one can stroll or drive across.
  13. Pretty sure they do too, but we're not talking about them. Not everyone on the island of Ireland identifies as Irish. There are two distinct legal jurisdictions. There will be differently evolving standards, laws, rules etc. The DUP object to any stance which differentiates the North Eastern portion of the province of Ulster from Britain, as they see that as a step closer to the unification of the island of Ireland.
  14. Because post Brexit there will be two different sets of standards which will evolve on either side of the border. Tell the DUP everyone is Irish and let us know how you get on They won't accept an Irish sea border as it differentiates them from the rest of the UK.
  15. There's a saying that the devil is in the detail. Those proposing the split can't provide the detail on how this seamless friction less non existent border with no checks or star trek checks that aren't operating anywhere else and different standards on either side works............. That's a problem the rest of us aren't willing to solve at our expense. That's a big deal.
  16. There's no educating ye on this.
  17. Lol. BUT the brexiteers were ASKED what the other way was and had no answer. Some sort of Star Trek technology that doesn't exist but everyone uses apparently.
  18. I voted Yes (twice) to the Lisbon treaty, so not too bothered. There was a change in the wording after the first vote which necessitated a second vote as it was legally a different thing being proposed. Doing anything else would have been undemocratic. Either way, no one was forced to change their vote, could have been no again, so I don't see the issue.
  19. I believe what Orde says is possible, yes. Actually probable. Wait and see, should border posts be constructed. Brexit is Britains problem.
  20. Nope, just yourself saying that Checks will require customs check points. Again, it's been asked to show where these seamless borders are, no answer to that questions demonstrates they don't exist. One of the main points is that regulations be the same either side of the border, to maintain standards. I'm quite pleased with Varadkar sticking to his guns, Tusks affirmation that a deal that isn't suitable for Ireland is a deal that isn't suitable for the EU gives us a defacto veto. That should sent the little englanders in the Tory right wing into fits
  21. If or when border posts appear, so too will people who want to make them disappear. There will always be people like that. https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/brexit/terror-attacks-in-northern-ireland-will-rise-in-wake-of-brexit-says-expsni-chief-orde-36365678.html On farm payments, the UK only represents something like 10% of that. No big deal. Redistribution within the system in Ireland and within the EU as a whole are much higher priorities for me. Brexit doesn't even figure into my thinking re farm payments. I absolutely agree about England not knowing or
  22. Make a start so ye idle feckers
  23. Sure ye lot want brexit, ye do the work
  24. Load of waffle Wilf, brexit isn't a topic of conversation outside of on the telly here. Customs will require customs points, if you don't think that they will become targets the I suggest you don't know this island very well. I'm a farmer and I'm not worried about the UK's exit from the EU. It's a plus as UK governments were never supportive of agriculture within the EU. We do most of our trade with the EU, then the USA, then the UK. Varadkar is doing the right thing by this country. The problem is the imperial little Englanders getting a dose of indigestion at having to de
  25. The issue with the border is checkpoints/customs infrastructure. Some people will do more than object to such installations. Which will, inevitably lead to objections to other things and back in time we go.
