  1. yeah i thought their chests must be pretty solid but i was using a .20 pellet which flies very flat and seems to drill in as would a .177 and requires very little hold over/under but it did the business on this one
  2. i love pheasant too this one was a nice reminder just how tasty they are it only had body showing as its head was obscured by leaves and twigs of a bush but i think it was spying on me as i was just getting ready to pack up then i spotted it and raised the gun, but its body and chest was in full view as it was streching up tall i only ever take head shots on everything but as i had no clear view of where to place the pellet i decided on a chest shot and the way it went down it did the business there and then it never ran just fell sidewards flapped a few times then nothing, if i had taken a n
  3. hi there, im using a gunpower stealth the mega capacity buddy holds way over 350 shots may be more its 200 bar charge i just top back up with a stirrup pump after each session the gunpower makers say you can get 250 to 300 bar in one before the valve bleeds it back out but i always top upto 180/200 max and its fine i always have a quick check on zero before each session at the zero range of 30 yrds then i know im ready to go but in this case it was low by an inch and needed to come right by 3 clicks now when im rested and and not out of breath with thumping heartbeat:laugh: it will go indide
  4. hi buddy always best to check your zero before shooting live quarry as in your case "just in case" my AAS410K recomend fill is 190 bar,but i fill to 160/170 and use to 100/110 bar as this is its sweet point what rifle you using? regards davy
  5. not sure if pheasants are too much for air rifles as you see lists of airgun quarry and although they are not listed once plucked they are not that much bigger than a fat woodie, they even say hares are too big for an air rifle don,t see why yes they are taller and long legged but the head in my opinion is very simlar sized to a rabbit although i have never shot one lots of people do. went to shoot some bunnies today but after a long wait not one showed so just thinking about packing up as light was fading, when i saw lots of pheasants walking a hedge line close to where i was sat, they were o
  6. just a question, does anyone actually check their zero on every outing ?. I recently been out a few times but zero spot on at 30 yrds then today i go out and its slightly adrift not by much but scope has not been knocked or touched in any way, i know some people say just topping up your buddy bottle if you go slightly over....for instance mine is 200 bar but have been told if i went over by 5 to 10 bar it will decrease in power and make the pellets strike lower until the pressure in bottle gets back to or under 200 bar. most buddy bottles wont allow over filling mine included but can maybe go

  9. cheers all , i always used to leave them where they dropped but over the years i have had 3 foxes run off with the odd one this annoys me its as if they are lying in wait for a free meal i know its not and everyday occurance but it makes you nervous on leaving them till you pack up lol.......anyone else had this happen ?
  10. got new permission this week the farmer said ok i,ll give you a go i know its sometimes difficult to get rabbits with air rifles unless your hidden up in ambush.....so he said have a go see how you get on this afternoon, so i rushed home to get gear but only had 3 hours of light left so anyway i got to the spot saw a few sitting out memorised their position and walked to within 25 to 30 yrds of where they were and hid up in hedge thinking come on i have to get some....... then after 10 mins first one showed 30yrds away but in the rush to get one mis judged it and missed arggggggh:wallbash: an

  15. have just watched it mate, they just don,t know what to do next .......im a stealth owner and it would take some doing to do fatal damage to a person with one but they do try to rub it in. its just the government want them banned they love and sit and watch all this s**t but we pay the price. Even police have said they don,t want a ban because it would trebble their hours and work load day to day and they have enough to do already without looking for every airgun thats gone underground it would spiral out of control and would be more gun crime than ever when in actual fact it is very few and f
  16. hi mate....go on google and tap in pete,s airgun farm it explains all you need to know but you,ll need basa or basc insurance basa about £20 a yr basc around £45 to 50 but worth it, he is in essex near chelmsford close to m11 and has ranges and air rifle hunting area,s for a daily fee hope this helps ...................
  17. yeah....cheers i would say definately worth a go ...well on pre-charged anyway silencers on springers cuts noise downrange where rabbits sitting but spring twang can never silence lol ...
  18. recently got my gunpower stealth back in .20 cal used to be .22 thought smaller cal be more accurate and more deadly and i was right, and believe it or not at 200 bar max fill after 300 to 400 shots still had 120 bar left pretty good i think... but although these guns are quiet i wanted it quieter still so i measured diameter of original silencer of approx 45 mm and found one of the other halfs deoderant cans almost empty but sorted that out it had same inner diameter so i cut off the end and slid it half way down original silencer was good tight fit and added another good 4 + inches of hollo
  19. cheers mate nice info i,ll check the deeks out only have a few been with shotguns longtime ago but never with air rifles ...cant wait

  21. anyone had any luck decoying woodies with air rifle ?......i was out the other day the landowner had cut the hay and it exposed all the warrens in middle of field so i thought errr easier to spot bunnies now so set up in the hedge 25 to 30 yards from the warren then waited it was,nt long before one popped out but he was close to hole so waited for him to venture further from safety it worked he moved a few yards then a .20 pest control entered one eye and exited the other he dropped where he stood so i quickly got him and went back to hide waited another 10 to 15 mins or so seemed much longer
